Great! I think that is an important thing to remember with a good many fans. In the end, people buy/rent "who" they wanna see. Ed gets the girls and he gets them new, thus that is why his films sell. I believe for most fans, the female comes first. Plus when someone really really likes a certain performer, they'll go almost anywhere to see them. Ed's films probably sell themselves on those basic elements alone.
I've been thinking about this, and I found EP's stuff unwatchable back when, say in 1995. And I still feel that way now. I don't want to see Ed naked, I don't really want to see him clothed, and the sex usually seems like work for hire, instead of an exciting act between two or more really turned on people. So while I've been watching porn since the late 1980's, EP's never gotten more of my money than about $10-12 from rentals.
I have come to the defense of Ed Powers. I guess if you what to measure success and thus years in the business; Ed is one of the people one must consider.
I don't know what volume he is in but the last one was in the 300 series.
He is marketed worldwide too!
Sure it looks amateurish but that's the charm of it! Has the sense of humor - the whack attitude and the one man operation that is funny and I think in many cases - "hot". Ed and Rodney Moore kind of made the interview follow by sex - the "hot scene" in porn the standard it is now!
It's more entertaining them lot of dried up Gonzo videos out there.

I'm glad Ed Powers released on DVD (4-play) the first two volumes of an early Bruce Seven series called "Loose Ends": to my knowledge, this is a rare case of 80's videos with a large behind-the-scenes section appended to the film (each dvd runs 2+ hours if i recall correctly).
I don't feel stupid, just...dirty. Up until, say the early 200's ed usually could guarantee at least one hot performance a tape. So long as you didn't think too much about what could have happened to that girl that she'd enjoy even fucking Ed, it could be good. Also, it felt *real* which is where the thrill comes in. Never underestimate the importance of putting a girl at ease or his ability to do so. And I'll fully admit that between say the mid-20's up to the 60's he was on a roll (the 40's and 50's had him slim). Also, his New Ends and Dirty Dirty Deb lines that coincide with this time frame were also pretty hot (Kitty Yung apparently experiencing her first anal orgasm comes to mind---promptly ruined by an Ed Powers kiss she obviously does not want). He had another good run from the 120's to the 180's, but then he just became so fat that no girl could even fake interest and now...he's just a sad sex addict, paying for sex under the pretense he's making movies. Granted this was always the case, but now the product proves him a liar. Zero production, just a tripod and him providing a girl with one of the worse experiences of her life.
But some of that early stuff can be hot---though I feel horrible about myself afterwards.
he's good at oral,so it was interesting to watch him make otherwise repulsed chicks cum against their will,lol.his fucking ability is pretty lousy,though.
The way I remember it there weren't that many releases back then as there are now.I would rent some of his stuff on 2-for-1 day if there was a hot girl that I'd already seen all of her scenes .
