I'd like to try it but the entry costs for the kits (usually a couple hundred books) is high for me. (I'm not talking about the single purpose kits, where you build a line follower or a mechanical arm, I mean the programmable ones where you can add, change and customize around a microprocessor). I was toying with getting a Lego Mindstorms. I remember the older version (2?) was developing quite a following. Then the NXT came out, but I haven't heard much about it after all the initial hype.
