| Jordan1 Member Fishing, a fun hobby! 490 Posts 7/08 | Talk about being behind the curve! While I was downloading a scene of hers, I began reading the comments as I usually do and found out that she’s supposedly retired and now a born-again Christian. (I was stunned to say the least!) I say “supposedly” because IAFD has one release of her in 2008, and three in 2007. I clicked on her link to MySpace at IAFD and it has a message dated from 2006 saying “new life since October 6, 2006” and that’s she’s a born-again Christian. The clubchrissy website link at IAFD is still active. I did a thread search here at ADT but found very little on the topic. While trying to find more to avoid unnecessarily starting a new thread, (thread got locked recently-didn’t know how to use correct search box & technique) I found out that Sierra Sin & Kendra Jade were retired and have the same view as Crissy Moran. This whole thing has my head spinning. It’s really weird when you have no idea that a performer has been retired for quite some time, has also become an outspoken person against the industry, and has found religion. Can someone please enlighten me on this matter? [Link] |

Sounds like she just settled down. A serious relationship is a common reason for the end of porn chicks careers Crissy Moran, she seems like a real Christian. Yes she is very critical of the porn business and regretful for what she has done, now she considers herself a survivor of a terrible industry. But if you read what she has written and said about it, what she is really saying is she believes the women in porn need love, not judgement. She believes that when they are loved they will realize they are more than sex objects on camera, they are better than that. It is clear she is sincere about her beliefs and has found her faith. That is her prerogative and that is fine. She has moved on and seems quite happy. She posts quite often on her MySpace page, you can read for yourself Sierra Sinn, however, seems like a flaky chick. Her conversion and anti-porn stance were very influenced by another flaky chick, that Shelley Lubben. Read that Lubben is taking money "donations" to "save" porn chicks like Sierra, it is all very disingenuous and superficial. Sierra Sinn sounds like she has not gained any self-knowledge or direction or grounding, she is just taking the easy way of blaming porn for her problems instead of assuming any personal responsibility. She still uses her MySpace page too and, if it is any reflection of her mind, she is still a mess. |

Many damaged little girls probably flock to the industry in their quest for acceptance and affection. In retrospect, some unconditonal love, and some good hugs and appreciative pats on the head might redirect some of these younguns to a more productive and healthy life choice. But that doesn't mean every chick who does porn is a total trainwreck. If Sativa, for instance, is truly looking for love, I'm available. Come to Papi. Come to Papi.... |

It just catches me off-guard when stuff like this happens, especially when they're such well-known performers and I've been watching their scenes thinking all along that they were perfectly happy with the business and were still performing. | buckaroo Member 283 Posts 10/08 | Disagree that Crissy Moran is one of those. She seems to sincerely believe people's lives would be improved by getting out of the sex industry. If you notice, she doesn't attack the industry by calling it sinful or the path to hell or that fundamentalist shit. You don't seem to be getting it. She believes women end up in porn because they are unloved. How is that absurd? She believes many women in porn were emotionally damaged in some way. They seek self-worth, affection and attention, and they find it in the porn industry by exploiting their sexuality. That was her personal experience. Who are you to devalue what she experienced? The industry is full of damaged women. Look at Haley Paige, Anastasia Blue. You can't possibly believe they were happy about themselves. The truth is, it is generally not a healthy thing for a woman to have unprotected sex with multiple strangers on camera for the world to see. It is extreme behavior. It is risky behavior. It is behavior that can have a lasting impact on their lives, their mental state, their very future As consumers, we don't have to think about that. But the performers, they have to live with it Some, like say Nina Hartley, are self-aware enough, strong enough, to handle it. Many others are notHere is a quote from her blog: I have passion now. My passion is to let other women know they are worth much more than their sexuality. Society and media will tell us different. It's true though... you are precious. You are worthy of love. You are special. No matter how hard of a road you have been down. There is hope for you. You are loved by the King!!!! Sounds positive to me. She believes she is helping people Personally, me, don't share her Christian faith. But to call her "disturbed" or "brainwashed" just shows YOUR cynicism and YOUR lack of respect for others beliefs. Personally, find her posts a LOT less disturbing than some of the posts by porn consumers on this site and others. Edited by - buckaroo on 12/17/2008 2:11:23 AM |
| Zoid Senior Member Boobies and Anal 2004 Posts 5/04 | I don't necessarily see anything wrong in exploiting one's sexuality, on camera or otherwise.I don't, but she can't translate her personal experience to "most women in porn".Original research? What about tens of thousands who are doing just fine?Damn, I was beginning to take you seriously.I read her blog from the very beginning (early 2006) and I think it's quite incoherent. She goes from doubting everything to declaring how strong she is, and then back again. At some point she was thinking about suicide. Basically, I am happy if she's happy with her current life -- I wasn't really a fan of hers anyway -- but she went from being a successful model to someone who's asking for charity donations. I just don't think it's a great improvement, but that's just me. Edited by - Zoid on 12/17/2008 5:47:40 AM |
