| Posted - Jan 24 2002 : 8:02AMJust wondering if anyone had seen any good gay flicks lately? I've been curious about Nicco and Danni and also the Adventures of Felix. The last one I saw that was enjoyable was Advice From A Caterpillar Synopsis: A female video artist falls in love--despite her best efforts to avoid commitment--with a bisexual actor who is dating a gay man who happens to be her best friend. Jon Tenney Suit Cynthia Nixon Missy Timothy Olyphant Brat Ally Sheedy Andy Dick Spaz. Edited by - netguy on Jan 26 2002 Edited by - netguy on Feb 17 2002 [Link] |

Hmm... I've been getting a few via netflix:All Over the Guy: Cute romantic comedy with the sexy little guy from Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place I don't remember if there were any naked butts in this one or not. In the Flesh: Cop drama about a sexually confused cop and a huslter. Decent flick, but rather low budget. Only 1 butt that stands out in my mind: That cop dude was hunkalicious, and had a very hard, furry little ass. The Big Tease: Lame "comedy" about a hairstylist crashing some hair competition. Stars that annoying brit from the Drew Carey show. No butts. [Link] |

I almost forgot...Hedwig and the Angry Inch Synopsis: Hedwig is a wildly original, transcendant, gender-bending rock-n-roll epic. An essential masterpiece of queer cinema. This is one of my favorites of the year! Edited by - netguy on Feb 28 2002 [Link] |

Hey, this is Todd from Gay DVD Empire...just chiming in with my two cents here =)I recently saw both "Felix" and "Nico and Dani". Both are excellent! I can't say i've really seen to much else though...sort of been LOTR obsessed.... "Come Undone" is another one that I finally got to see. It's fairly good...a bit ponderous but definitely worth the time. I haven't gone back for a second helping yet to see if they're worth owning...I watch them and try to write something about them and move on. Hope this helps! gayEMPIRE! [Link] |

I just saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch live at the Loring Theatre in Minneapolis! It was great! I enjoyed it much more than the movie.I recently saw Get Real... it was ok, but a little long and a little sappy. I have 2 from Netflix that I just haven't got around to watching yet: Head On (about hunky greek stud prostitutes!) and Man of the Year (a mockumentary about the playgirl man of the year a while back that turned out to be gay ..OOPs! ) I've also got Bully coming from Netflix, so I'll let y'all know what I think of that one when I finally get it. Head On is pretty good. The guys hot I think! One of the better gay flicks on dealing with your sexuality and heritage. [Link] |

Just watched Priest tonight, about, well... a gay priest (bet you didn't see that coming). It's rather depressing, though it seems most of these gay flicks are nowadays. Good movie though. The gay priest is one of those weird guys... most of the time, he's one heck of a hottie. But every now and then, they'll show him from some odd angle, and I'm all "what the hell?". Only major disappointment was that we didn't get to see any priest butt! [Link] |

I saw Priest way back when on vhs and have been meaning to pick up the dvd. I really enjoyed it.I just watched "Bully" tonight. It's really good but not for the squeamish. Pretty graphic violence, that includes rape, and its based on a true story. Read reviews before renting online...it's not to everyone's liking. Based on the book Bully: A True Story of High School Revenge by Jim Schutze. Running time: 112 minutes. No MPAA rating (sex, nudity, violence, language, drugs; not appropriate for immature viewers). Based on a real story from 1993, it tells the story of a twisted high school bully and a circle of friends who decide to kill him. We meet Marty Puccio (Brad Renfro) and Bobby Kent (Nick Stahl). For as long as Marty can remember, Bobby has picked on him, and we see it as a daily ordeal: The ear twisting, the hard punches, the peremptory orders ("Get back in the car now!"), the demands that he go where he doesn't want to go and do what he doesn't want to do. In a key scene, Bobby takes him to a gay strip club and makes him dance on the stage while patrons stuff bills into his shorts. Marty is not gay. Bobby may be; certainly his relationship with Bobby is sublimated S/M. Marty and Bobby meet Ali and Lisa (Bijou Phillips and Rachel Miner). Bobby eventually rapes both girls. He also likes to watch Marty and Lisa in the back seat. He is, we sense, evil to the core; something has gone very wrong in his life, and maybe it was engendered by the authoritarian style of his father, who likes to dominate people under the guise of only doing what's right for them. A consensus begins to form that Bobby deserves to be killed. At one point, Lisa simply says, "I want him dead." Edited by - netguy on Feb 28 2002 [Link] |

I've been waiting for this. Release date 3/26. Adapted from the novel La Virgen de los Sicarios by its author, Fernando Vallejo, OUR LADY OF THE ASSASSINS is an exploration of morality and mortality in Medellín, Colombia. Returning to his hometown after a 30-year exile, Fernando (German Jaramillo) is introduced by a mutual friend to a teenage boy, Alexis (Anderson Ballesteros) who quickly becomes Fernando's lover.
