PLOT: "Take a walk down this country road to the home of a wealthy polygamist. There's too much sex for just one husband to handle. A strong man is needed to help with the chores and they'll churn more than your butter if you stay all night in Country Comfort." That's really all you need to know for this sort of video. The movie opens with a very vocal Lisa (played by Devon) having an interlude in the woods with some unknown person (The Lover played by Bobby Vitale), while a drifter (John played by Julian) watches in the distance. While the drifter tries to hide himself, it is evident that his presence is known to Lisa. There are multiple angle options during the scene, but it apears that Vivid changes the angles on you automatically so you don't really gain anything by switching cameras. Next, the drifter arrives at the farm looking for a place to stay and a meal to eat. Franco (Herschel Savage) invites him in while Mary fixes him something to eat. Franco introduces John to Lisa as the new caretaker, and John thanks Franco for the hopitality of him & his 'daughters.' Lisa shows John to his new room, and they get acquianted while downstairs we see that Franco is more than a father to Mary & Jane (Halli Aston & Gwen Summers). Before things get too steamy between John & Lisa, Franco calls her back downstiars to join them, but she stops to masturbate on the stairs. John sneaks downstairs and watches Franco, Mary & Jane for a while, then dissappears again. Multiple angles are available in this scene. We next see John outside with the housemaid Susan (Phyllisha Anne). John comes onto her, and they have sex. Multiple angles are again available in this scene. John & the housekeeper walk out onto the front lawn, and the housekeeper apparently tells John the story of Franco & the Widow (Raquel Devine ) which is told through a sex scene. The camera pans over to Franco and the widow, and then we get to see them go at it outside by the fence, then they go inside to the study and continue their spirited play, quite loudly. The focus fades back to John and the housekeeper talking, and when John asks what happened to the widow, she tells him to not be so curious. Lisa, Mary, and Jane are outside, playing dressup, when John happens upon them. They flirt with him and playfully force him to dress up in women's clothes. They hold him down and put lipstick on him, and then they all have sex. In the midst of their passion, Franco walks up on the four of them. He watches them for a while, then he walks over. The flashback scene involving the widow (Susan) is mentioned, and they all confess that the widow took in strays, and that when she died, they decided to play out the charade and pretend to be father & daughters, instead of husband and wives. Franco admits that his need for a handyman is quite real, these women are a handful. EXTRAS: First, the interface of this video is what Vivid calls a "Virtual World" environment. You can navigate through a dungeon and pick options by opening doors. 1. Award Wining Sex - This is simply 3 sex clips from Vivid videos that apparently won AVN awards. There is about 10sec of footage from the awards ceremony, but no mention of what these awards were for. You also don't get to hear the presenters of the awards or who the competition was, etc. 2. Intel Sex Game - You can click on some items in a computer generated room and view sex scenes. I'm not certain that this is really a game. 3. Meet the Girls - You can view a bio for 9 Vivid-girls (Heather Hunter, Kobe Tai, Lexus, Chasey Lain, Tia Bella, Dyanna Lauren, Jenteal, Janine, and Racquel Darrian) along with some video of them posing. The quirk here is that I don't believe that any of these girls were actually in Country Comfort, nor do they give a filmagraphy of what films they actually have been in. 4. Previews - Sample sex scenes from various Vivid videos. Nothing surprising here. 5. Bad Girls - This is an extension of the "Virtual World" environment. You can click on stuff pictures of the girls as you navigate the dungeon and then view a sex scene. 6. Web - This is a commercial plug for Vivid's adult web site. 7. Bonus - This is split into 3 sections (slide show, playroom, and interactive). Slide show is simply still shots from movies that were in the Previews sections. Playroom is a collection of sex scenes from movies. Interactive is 4 clips of girl-girl sex scenes and there is nothing interactive about it. 8. DVD-ROM - I have no idea what's on here as I do not own a dvd-rom. I suspect it's probably more sex scenes, or maybe the type of extras I wish were on here like bloopers or some commentary materials. I really think that whatever is on this part could have been easily incorporated into the regular DVD portion of the video. LIKES: Tastefully done production that seems to be on the softer side of the genre. The video quality is excellent and the sets are much better than expected. Good introduction for those not familiar with adult dvd's and a definate departure from previous videos of the 80's. The Vivid girls are quite spectacular, especially Devon, and not all of them seem to have been breast enhanced even. A lot of extras which take several hours to go watch. DISLIKES: Vivid are you listening? I really wish this was done wide-screen. The sound guy responsible for this movie did an underwelming job. I had to turn the volume up way too much to hear the girls, and then turn it down quite a bit during any of the sex scenes. It seems like a lot of the scenes were cut up, some of the dialog seems to refer to scenes that are not in the video at all. Sex scenes are cut up as well, but this may be the standard for this type of video. DVD-ROM material is worthless for those of us without any way to view it. I would like some bloopers, outtakes, and commentaries. Lastly, if you press the menu button during the introduction portion of the video, you are taken to a scene selection menu and cannot go to the main menu for the video without restarting the video again. You get some of the best scenes from other Vivid flicks that make buying THOSE films unnecessary. True, they're on the short side (around 2 1/2 minutes), but great nonetheless. Racquel Darrian, Dyanna Lauren, Celeste, and many more. The extras make this purchase well worth the money. THE FILM PRODUCTION: Great visuals. Looks like a real nice piece of filming. Nice film look. Sound is average, but no doubt MUCH better than the tape. DEVON: Some have hailed Devon as the next to carry Jenna's torch. Well, let me say this much: Until she learns how to suck a dick she'll never replace the queen. She is damn hot, and she has a way with those eyes. Her first scene with Bobby Vitale would have been terrific if #1) she could put more than 1 inch of him in her mouth and #2) He didn't furiously jerk himself off at the end for well over 1 minute.
