I've seen seven of these Best Video Feature nominees (the ones in bold), and commented on most of them here somewhere. I think we'll all agree "Pirates" will win based on the politics and the hype, but it was my favorite of those overall anyway.
Anyone want to recommend that I see any of the other five?
Only saw three of the film nominees, but all were pretty decent. I'm sure I'll eventually get around to the new DMJ. I guess that's about a 2-5 betting favorite.
If we ignore things like A/V quality, production costs, etc. and just concentrate solely on story, acting and sex, "Lover's Lane" is the best of the movies listed above. But you're right - Pirates will win.
It doesn't look as if I will get to any more movies in 2005, so I will name my top three features for the year (not necessarily in this order, but maybe):
No, No Briana Pirates Second Thoughts
Honorable Mention: Polarity, Last Girl Standing
I guess I could have just made it a top five, but I had more reservations about the HMs. I'd love to see other people's top picks.
Wow! I made your top three!! I don't know what to say...I'm very flattered. Unfortunately, AVN did not feel the same way. "Second Thoughts" didn't receive any nominations. I personally feel Tory Lane deserved a nod for oral scene for her work in this one and maybe one for her killer girl/girl scene too!
not sure what to think i felt belladonna should have had more nom's than she got the girls that worked for her did some amazing stuff . i just felt a bit of a slap there but i feel the list is ok will have to wait and see how it turns out
Well, I call 'em as I see 'em. It's probably #1 on pure merit as an adult film, with Pirates #3. Second Thoughts is the movie I would most recommend to people, but No, No Briana just happens to have my favorite 20-second moment of the year (the water bottle).
I think I might have said it in my Second Thoughts thread, but after two movies (Private Eyes is still in the mail), you're now on my very short list of directors whose movies I won't miss. And not just because you're so much better-looking in the BTS than Armstrong or Paul Thomas.
I am looking forward to what you have to say about Private Eyes. I personally still like Second Thoughts better...maybe I'm just being hard on myself. Other people seem to like it...there's just a few things I would have done differently if given more time. Private Eyes was a late script choice due to location issues. I was originally set to shoot a movie called "3 Wishes" (which I have shot since and LOVE) but had to change it almost last minute. Either way, I'm curious to read your opinion.
