I have seen a good variety of porn now, but still think my copy of John Stagliano's The Fashionistas is the best. It has a good plot, the sex scenes are out of this world, and the cast is exceptional. Is there anyhting out there that even comes close? Preferably readers who have already scene said film would be best judged to answer this one.
Check out any of Stagliano's "feature films". Wild Goose Chase and Face Dance have different feels, but I think they're almost as good as Fashionistas . Stagliano's Wild Goose Chase is the movie that showed me how much potential porn can have back when it first came out, much like Fashionistas did for many people when it came out. I also think many of Wicked's big budget movies (the Jonathan Morgan comedies like the Double Feature s, Euphoria , and I'm hoping Eye of the Beholder ) are up there, and they have a few hidden gems such as Tell Me What You Want and Knockout which are basically character porn pieces. You might also check out some of Nic Andrews' movies. Nic's are the softest of the above, but he's not afraid to spend time on things like plot and normally has a very good looking cast.

I asked Tricia which of his film's she would suggest, and was recommended BUDA, which was quite good. The director is harder on himself in the commentary on the technical limitations of the flim that I would have been. First scene is the best, IMO.
I really think that this film set the standard by which many features will be judged from now on. you can't really match and compare what has been done to this film. as many may know I'm a huge Evil Angel supporter and even bigger lover of The Fashionistas . if only there was a sequel, that I would enjoy writing (I've already written a teleplay for a sequel which is like a basis of the story, characters, and such) then eveything would be right in my porno world.
no I take that back, a number of other things would have to happen before all was right in my porn world. including, but not limited to seeing Nina Hartley get a REAL anal plumbing in a film. Jeanna Fine returns and is more stunning then ever. Debi Diamond begins escorting so I can pay to have a lady friend of mine fulfill her fantasy and one of the best ways to correct all of porn land is to have Gina Lynn discover the joys of anal sex ...
Well I've seen Fashionistas , but you're a little vague in saying what you enjoyed at the flick so I'm not sure what you might like . Did you enjoy the facefucking , chocking , slober etc ? If so then I can't help you . But if you enjoyed the beauty of the performers then there are tons of better features . The consistency of the plot surprised you for porn ? Again there are plenty better out there . And as for production values I guess it's the best of modern features , from America anyway . But if you only enjoy American porn you'll be a bit limited in your choice of good features I'm afraid .
I haven't seen anything as good as the Fashionistas. There are scenes in other movies I enjoy better than some of the scenes in Fashionistas, but as an overall movie there is nothing better.
I'm another person who loves "The Fashionistas". I think what makes this film is not the sex scenes, but the plot and character development. Both are something you usually don't find much of in porno films, and it makes this film more like a mainstream movie. I agree with Astroknight when he says this film shows how much potential the porn genre can have. If there is any porno movie as good as this one, please let me know.

One of the best adult films I've seen recently is Viking Legends by a director called Mike Beck. It has superb production values and hot sex.
As for The Fashionistas, I've yet to see it but have read so much about it. If they do a sequel, I would love for there to be some male-male action in it as well as the regulation male-female and female-female. A film about the fashion world should have male-male in it, believe you me.

Wow - all I need to do to get a big ego boost is read this thread. :)
Seriously, though, I've said it before, but when we were making Fashionistas, we were SO thrilled with how things were turning out, but we had no idea if people were going to agree.
For feature work other than John's, I tend to watch Jonathon Morgan's more serious movies, or Nicolas Steele. I'm also waiting to see if Tanya Hyde directs a full-out feature for Harmony.
John will be directing his next feature within the next year, and is currently working on 2 different scripts, and whichever one feels more "right" is the one he will work on.
That's great to hear that John's going to do another feature soon (since it sounds like the Fashionistas show is going well enough to let him)! A Tanya Hyde feature would be amazing!!!!! I think I know what's at the top of my list for Santa this year.

An older (mid 90s) very hardcore feature that should be considered would be De Renzy's Slave to Love . A film all about the corruption of the (fairly) innocent.
i also love fashionistas its an awesome film, and beautifully produced as a dvd package, i held of buying this film for way too long, being quite pricey here in australia. I loved this film straight out from the start and found the scenes and build-up very intense, especially going through belladonna's tease sequence being so powerfull and then going into a very strong dominated, submissive scene between taylor st claire and belladonna, this film felf very far removed from all the gonzo i have been watching over the past few years, yep suprisingly was directed by pretty much the father of gonzo, john stagliano
liliane_obsessed, I'm in Australia as well, but if you decide to order DVDs from the retailers who sell through ADT here you'll find that you can save quite a lot of money on your dvds.
Here's the International Shopping Forum and Here is some information that specifically relates to Australia.
I'll bugger off now and let this thread get back to the Fashionistas.
