I've heard that if you're male, the best way to get into the business is to find a really hot woman who agrees to work exclusively with you. If she's not exclusively with you, then you become expendable. Prove your abilities by doing a good job - show up on time and get the job done right. If you try to enter the business as solo male, you probably won't get anyone to return your calls. Of course, if you're freakishly well endowed or have model good looks, that may help.
If you have video of you fucking a woman, send it to some producers. Make sure the video is well produced (proper lighting and good editing) and shows off your stamina.

Well, I have limited experience with this topic (and zero experience with the British porn industry), but I'll offer one example. I have first hand experience with one guy that I watched from start to AVN New Male Performer award winner. He's bisexual, but I'm not sure he ever performed in gay as a performer. He started in amateur porn with his GF doing couples videos for little pay. They performed together for several producers and she got some solo work on a website primarily focused on G/G content. He made some contacts in the industry and did some non-performer work like editing as well as some in front of camera work for the same website his GF was working for. It took him several years, but he eventually became a recognized performer in many straight commercial productions. I think his success was based on being larger than normal, easy to work with (no drama), GF connected that helped open a few doors, skill sets other than his ability to fuck, commitment to the industry, reliable performer (got it up and got it off) willing to do whatever it took to be successful, and located in Southern California. I'm gonna guess and say unless you're a real stud your chances of getting in are slim to none. Maybe you should post some pics or something though. I think the basic questions you should ask yourself would be :

- Am I reasonably fit and good looking?
- Is my dick well above average in length and girth?
- Am I comfortable with the fact that my family and friends will know I am a porn actor?
- Am I able to fuck and stay hard for long periods of time, repeatedly stopping/restarting on cue?
- Is fucking naked in front of other people not a problem?
- Are my cumshots always copious?
- Am I prepared to fuck overweight grannies to get a start in the business?

The last question is no joke, I think Manuel Ferrara himself had to start his career fucking old ladies and do specialist "plump women" vids.
If you can answer yes to all those questions by all means try hard, but even then there is no guarantee you can suceeed. The "hot girlfriend that would fuck on screen exclusively with you" trick may work a lot better.
