Even though when I attend the AEE I will line up to meet those stars of the big studios, I first go looking for the smaller studios with the black women stars. When I had walked by the Jules Jordan booth to see who was signing, I was suprised to see Monique, and I immediately went to her line to meet her. Awesome girl and was one girl who I did not know was going to be there. Click to expand Hmm it is business, and yes a free market BUT, maybe I am speaking for a small group here, alot of porn companies will try to mislead the consumer with attractive artwork on the DVD but give them crappy quality being the people in the movie and quality of the scenes how they were shot. But just because America boasts that the hottest type of woman is a big titted blonde from the beaches of California does not mean the consumer wants those girls in movies all the time. Seems that has somewhat started to change with alot of Latin women and Asian women being popular. BUT I am guessing that studio execs want to keep following the trends that have been around for so long and not wanting to venture out. I consider popular culture a system of life, symbols, and learned behavior without fixed boundaries, constantly in flux, and that interact, compete and is influenced by contact with others, it is essentially a wide array of human activities. You are heavily implying that it is a quantitative property and it's parts can be measured, especially in relation to the broken down demographics of a given population. The great thing about American culture is due to the various social groups here has turned it into a hybrid beast. The cultural differences between members of a subculture and the dominant national culture blur and eventually disappear to the point you can be a Indian food eating, Nike wearing, Barack Obama loving, hip-hop listening, Anime watching, BMW driving Catholic and it's not indicative of your race. Any given social group can and does contribute, and therefore the culture reflects it. It is constantly changing and easily lost because it exists in our minds and perceptions not based on percentages. So you can look at our sports obsessed nation, use the NFL or NBA for example, and make the assessment that blacks are "over represented", but that's not exactly how culture works or is defined. I definitely am more star driven in my choice of movies to buy.
That is how the industry is run.
The Lynn Girls of the 80's, Amber, Porsche and Ginger had hug fan bases and for sure people would buy/rent a movie if any of them were in it.

Well I think the difference is, there are a lot more white people to begin with than there are black people. So your going to see a lot less black girls that look good. The answer may lie in the numbers more so than attractiveness. Then again attractiveness is subjective.
There are only a handful of black performers I think actually look good and a handful that are just decent. The others look like they just came off the street to do a few scenes and their gone. Then you gotta look at most black women are raised in the black churches. Most of the black women I know have some kind of history with the church so it's highly likely they believe porn is wrong.

Growing up under black women and observing black women I've no personal or professional connection with. A lot of depends on the social network she finds herself in. Well we can only hope that soon the studios will see that they do have a fan base in that IR market.
Even though when I attend the AEE I will line up to meet those stars of the big studios, I first go looking for the smaller studios with the black women stars. And when I see some lesser known black girls walking around, I ask if I can get a photo with them.
When I had walked by the Jules Jordan booth to see who was signing, I was suprised to see Monique, and I immediately went to her line to meet her. Awesome girl and was one girl who I did not know was going to be there.
Hopefully Sydnee Capri, Lori Alexia, Ms Panther, Delotta Brown, Melodee Bliss, Melrose Foxxx, Sandi Jackmon, Beauty Dior, Hypnotiq, Cherokee D'Ass, Pinky, Carmen Hayes and Nyomi Banxxx are there this year. But with this year being a smaller Expo than past years, I think those smaller studios will not be there as much. So More than likely this year the Ebony Babes won't be there in large numbers.

I guess you'll be boycotting porn, probably as a whole. If you can find the pay rates for West Coast & Justin that might help. But what if you find they don't. What if you find that everybody in the industry runs their businesses like businesses. They pay their talent no more than their talent can demand and in a industry where your attractiveness is one of, if not your main selling point in a nation where the standard of beauty for better or worse is big tit blond hair women who aren't found as attractive by as many people get paid less. The inverse is that it seems Asian girls are found to be highly desirable and get to demand a premium. It's business.

But if you were to focus your efforts on porn with black women in them however and obviously ever got a following the end result would be less copies of DVD's sold with black women in them. ^^^What free market? The free market competition between the studio's? There is nothing free about the market at the performer level. It's not free market or good business to handicap some of the competitors. It is simply unfair.
In the part of my previous post that you quoted, I am merely pointing to the fact the producer are ignoring an untapped source of revenue by marginalizing black women. Why would these smart free marketeer do themselves out of an obvious revenue stream?

Hmm it is business, and yes a free market BUT, maybe I am speaking for a small group here, alot of porn companies will try to mislead the consumer with attractive artwork on the DVD but give them crappy quality being the people in the movie and quality of the scenes how they were shot.
But just because America boasts that the hottest type of woman is a big titted blonde from the beaches of California does not mean the consumer wants those girls in movies all the time. Seems that has somewhat started to change with alot of Latin women and Asian women being popular. BUT I am guessing that studio execs want to keep following the trends that have been around for so long and not wanting to venture out.
Let's see, we get Asians in IR with Black Men, Latinas with Black Men. So add those into the IR saturated market of Black Men nailing chicks. Big deal. Still won't be getting me to buy any of those movies.
I am starting to believe it is true that the industry just does not care about promoting and making the Black Women being nailed by White Guys IR market just as popular as all the others. There is no way anyone can say that market is not going to work. Unless more studios take a chance, like they did back in the 90's when guys like Lex Steele and Sean Michaels were paired with white girls and it sold. I am sure if Cherokee was getting her big booty tapped by some white guys like Evan Stone and Steve Holmes in some movies released by Digital Playground etc, then the Black Women would become as popular as thier fellow White and Asian girls in the industry. But Cherokee gets done by black guys more often than not for example.
Hopefully in the next few years, a few directors will step up and make some quality IR porn with these hot black women. I am quite sure almost all of the black women in the industry will do IR.

I think you are giving way too much credit to the "average" person and forgetting how the real world works. On the performer level you are valued by how many DVD's it is believed you will sell. Which until you've got a name for yourself it's based purely on looks.
Go look at the Maxim top 100, the Playboy over the years. Hell go look at Mtv. I can keep this up all day. If you want to blame it on the media go a head (I personally think it has to do with the fact that most cultures have their individual standards of beauty, if America were a majority black country we'd see other trends than we do) We see ten million busty blondes because that is what consumers want. There are black titles from major companies. Big Wet Black Asses is on it's 5th instalment. I believe Vivid has a similar line but I can't recall it.
I expect that this trend is about to shift somewhat as we have a batch of gorgeous black women Capri Styles, Sydnee Capri, Jada Fire, Monica Foster, Sinnamon Love who are making a name for themselves and going all the way.
One thing I think the "internet porn community" needs to realize is that they are a highly vocal minority. If blondes didn't sell we wouldn't see DVD's with nothing but (and not even labeled as a special taste like we'd get for Asians, Blacks, Latinas, or Redheads. The same goes for breast implants. Well I guess I am in the "average" customer. I only own about 200 porn dvd's which is not considered alot. Not sure how many vhs I own from the 80's and 90's or did own.
In porn, I think too many directors have followed the leader, saturated a market and do not want to take many chances venturing outside the box.
Sure many of my posts have been arguing the fact that there is not enough, and not alot of good IR Black Girl/Which Guy porn out there.
Many people will spend thier money on whatever and some of us are picky.
I am a big Jenna Jameson, Amber Lynn fan and those 2 girls are sexy blondes who one in the 80's was the "it" girl and one in the 90's and on was the "it" girl/ Mainly from a marketing standpoint. Plus these two are who got my interest in porn, Amber Lynn and got my interest back in porn, Jenna Jameson. I think there are way too many big titted blondes in the industry now. But that is my sole opinion and that is what makes us all unique fans I say.
What you have said is definitely true. But I still believe that studios and directors seem to not want to take many chances outside of the usualy IR movies of Black Guy/White Girl/Asian Girl/Latin Girl.

I can easily spend almost an hour in a local video store searching for the IR movies I want and come up emptyhanded. But if I wanted all black or IR black guy/white girl porn, tons of titles.

I've only seen one of the series that you mentioned. Gangland White Boy Stomp. And you know what it would clean up real nice. I bought a few of them but never again. Why? Lazy production. ^^Ya but I am just a consumer. My input means shit to those who run studios or are directors. I'll go to the video store tomorrow or Saturday to see what titles I can find. Ordering online get expensive as the shipping can kill us in Canada. Plus the time for it to get here. Sucks.
I was shocked to find a recent release of Sinnamon Love's called White Men Love Black MILFs also starring Monique, Kandi Kream, Lola Lane and Janet Jackme.

Pookie looking= 2 dollar swamp meet weave or wig (extra points if blond or multicolored), obvious contacts, generally untoned body as in a big sloppy ass. I prefer curvy women over rail thin or hard body types, but many of the asses are just a no go for me. Big just to be big is not always good. I love a big,shapely ass especially Kapri Styles followed by Ayanna Angel, but too often I'm turned off by bodies I see on some of these women.

I don't even understand your point about how blacks are just as much a part of American Culture as anybody else. Forstarters that's simply not true. It just isn't. I think a strong argument could be made that African Americans are overly represented in today's culture. Least in the places where clear lines can be drawn. Blacks make up (for the sake of this conversation) 15% of the population (they are actualy 13. something last I checked but I like multiples of five) It seems that black and I mean black marketed films make up more than 15% of the market particularly if we are talking about the males. I would argue that an increasing number of black women are showing up in NON themed movies such as Sprung a Leak.
You know what I like being entertained, I enjoy humilation porn. I love the Cum Bang format. I'd be the first in line if someone had the gall to make porn about KKK members having rough sex with black chicks. Wow so Blacks are not part of American Culture? And they are overly represented?
Hmm ok they are mostly represented in mainstream as thugs, ghetto, hoocie mamas, ya that is the average black person isn't it? Don't think so.
Sadly that is White America with the stereotyping of blacks.

Motown was a big influence in music today. Chuck Berry was one of the first black rockers.
I am beginning to believe there is racism in the porn industry. Sad but true.
I mean I know that most ADT members frown upon contract girls somewhat.
But why has none of the studios, who do have contract girls, ever offered to sign any of the black women in porn?

Well regadless, I am a fan of these women and will still buy thier movies. Last year at the AEE it was all about the Black Girls for me. After looking at 2006 and 2007 pics, I had met the exact same girls practically and thought I would only meet some of the same, the rest I would meet is the black girls.
This year no different. Jada Fire is my first stop, Marie Luv my 2nd stop, Vanessa Blue my 3rd stop then over to the Black Market booth to see the black girls there. Then a free for all.

Ok, having re-read, I see what you were trying to get at and it leads to a whole new disagreement. I consider popular culture a system of life, symbols, and learned behavior without fixed boundaries, constantly in flux, and that interact, compete and is influenced by contact with others, it is essentially a wide array of human activities. You are heavily implying that it is a quantitative property and it's parts can be measured, especially in relation to the broken down demographics of a given population. The great thing about American culture is due to the various social groups here has turned it into a hybrid beast. The cultural differences between members of a subculture and the dominant national culture blur and eventually disappear to the point you can be a Indian food eating, Nike wearing, Barack Obama loving, hip-hop listening, Anime watching, BMW driving Catholic and it's not indicative of your race. Any given social group can and does contribute, and therefore the culture reflects it. It is constantly changing and easily lost because it exists in our minds and perceptions not based on percentages. So you can look at our sports obsessed nation, use the NFL or NBA for example, and make the assessment that blacks are "over represented", but that's not exactly how culture works or is defined.

Sad that it matters about what "race" is over represented. This is 2009 not 1959. Who cares. I'm a white guy who has more friends that are non-white, have dated more women in my life who are non-white. Doesn't mean I am "ignoring" my "race"
We are all part of the same race...Human Race...let's get past this and enjoy the porn stars we each enjoy. Respect what each other likes and dislikes. But why does it have to be about what "race" is over represented and under respresented? Does it really matter? To me it doesn't, never will. I'll still buy black girls porn, still date black women.

On a side note it isn't entirely fair to blame white america for Sterotyping blacks. It's not like when blacks have complete creative control that they are and better represented. We are centuries away from this homogenous culture (if such a thing is ever going to happen) Personally I'm skeptical that such a thing will ever happen. Part of human nature is to categorize and sterotype and self segregate.
While I think it's a bit of an overstatement to claim that blacks are only represented negatively by the media that's an entirely different beast and a separate conversation. The fact is that there are cultural differences between races, cultures and nationalities that influence how we think and act and that includes perception of beauty.
