The Gonzo stuff is OK, I really liked one of the Oral Hygiene series in which Rob interviews Amber Simpson, curly ginger-haired freckle face she is, talks about how she's supporting her boyfriend and wants to be out of porn once she's paid all the debt off. I hope she did and she's having a great life as a Soccer Mom.

But the movies which ran afoul of the law Bush Jnr's administration because of forced sex scenarios, women dressed like or acting as if underaged and "Gross Out" content involving (very minor compared to what we see today, but still) vomiting stuff means the like of Hot Movies prolly will not be carrying them.

But my favourites, which I think are worth revisiting, are the features made by people with often warped imaginations, those the ones I've been trying to track down and 'save' in my collection.

The whole experience could be a HBO movie or netflix miniseries and I've become more familiar with the players of the era reading thorugh old posts this forum. You can also access the Extreme Associates website through the Archive Wayback machine to see how events were occurring through the years and months. Zupko came to them through bad blood with Stagliano. Rob Black shoots the blowbangs in XPW rings, then he had trouble paying people.

The early days were revolving doors of starlets where ego troubles, money and chaos led to Monqiue, Tiffany Mynx & Van Damage, Ashlyn Gere - in her last hardcore sex films - Alana Evans, Stryc9 / Cherry Mirage and Jon Dough became contracted with big fanfares and then exited almost as quickly.

Paul Norman (former husband of Tori Welles) also edited for Zupko, Slain Wayne too, Jane Waters photographed. All 3 stepped foot into the mainstream with Norman directing the Clint Howard movie Ice Cream Man.

Wanker Wang was employed by them and appears onscreen in Tom Zupko's Marvel-esque parody Mammary Man and Jug Woman, and then left to set up his own line which gained fame and notoriety for the boundaries he tried to push.

Seems like there are a million stories there, Rob Black must have one heck of a book in him and, though flawed, could easily have a 'Goodfellas' made about all he went through. Apparently paid someone to cut a wrestler's fingers off though, after he shagged Black's wife Lizzy, which is not cool.

I could talk for hours about how much it all interests me. But I'll leave with one illustrative story. HotMovies had Zupko's fairly harrowing "Bret Rockman MD" on there re-titled, via Sinister, "The Deviant Doctor", but one scene was cut involving blood and dismemeberment leading to a 30 minute chunk that was just deleted, making it entirely pointless as a viewing experience to what was Zupko's original intent.

It cost me but I tracked down an uncut copy. I may do the same for other DVDs but I'll do it on a case by case basis depending on the title.

I do wonder where Zupko is now though. Sure they hyped his stuuf up no end and it could be juvenile, self-important and overblown but, when you contrast it to the current state of what is put out by studios, there is nothing else like it and there probably will never be again.

Thanks for that detailed answer. I may consider myself an Extreme Associates fan, but it sounds like you have a PhD in their history. It's always good to connect with someone with the same obscure interests.

I'm confident in saying that if Rob Black remastered his movies and opened a site that he could make money. I'm sure there are thousands of us who would sign up. I even think that as word spread, younger porn buyers who weren't around when EA was a thing would discover and like it. As you point out, the industry has changed considerably and some of the extreme stuff that EA did is more mainstream now.

For that matter, presuming that Rob Black still owns the rights to his movies, simply licensing them to a site like Bang.com would be worthwhile.

But for now, at least, it looks like my interest in the EA movies won't lead to me finding them anywhere. I have an extensive collection, and while I remain an active collector and subscriber, my favourite porn tends to be from around 25 years ago. For every new scene I watch, I probably watch two or three older scenes.
