BTW, what have the people at Auntie been smoking to cause that weird DVD release policy? To get the complete Black Adder and Yes (Prime) Minister (another all time favourite) series at reasonable prices I had to buy the US collections. I haven't gotten the Red Dwarf DVDs yet, but the series 1-4 'just the shows' set seems reasonably priced. But if I want series 5 and 6, the US versions again seem the way to go. [Link] |

But then what do you expect from a publicly funded organization who haven't ever had to take public opinion into account ? Blue Planet was very expensive to make , but costs peanuts to buy , while Red Dwarf and Blackadder were made on a shoestring budget but cost an arm and a leg . Go figure ! Oh and something I highly recommend if you enjoy some British programming is Cracker . Not a comedy like the others , it's deadly serious but also staggeringly 'alive' . They we're kinda OK, but then BBC Prime stopped transmitting in D2MAC, and I never saw any more. Did Chris Barrie return as a Series 7 regular? I was also one of those heretics who preferred Hattie Hayridge's Holly, so hearing of Norman Lovett's return was a bit of a bummer. I think I'll hold out until they release a 'just the show' box set of 5-8. I only got the chance to see one episode IIRC. Liked it. How about the old Ian McShane series Lovejoy? I loved the first few seasons. [Link] |

My guess is there'll be something released to cash in on the movie hitting cinemas , though when exactly that is I have no idea . BTW why are they no extras on a genius series like Blackadder while Jessica Alba's Honey gets the kitchen sink thrown at it ? Life makes no sense . Why was I checking out Honey ?
