A while back I was reading an article in a mainstream magazine (it might have been "George", the magazine started by John Kennedy Jr., can't remember for sure though) about the porn industry. The article stated that most of the women in porn are bisexual, which is why they don't mind (and often even like) shooting scenes with other women.
Now I know there are a number of porn actresses who truly are bisexual, and some have even had full-blown relationships with other women. But I'm wondering if the claim that most of them are is just an exaggeration. We know there are guys who do gay or bi scenes without being gay or bi, but just do it for the money. Likewise I'm sure there must be girls who do lesbian scenes and maybe even enjoy doing them but aren't actually bisexual in real life.
Just wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this.

I believe the answer to your question is no. Most of them do it for the money.
However, I don't know this for an absolute fact.

I always found this to be fascinating. The first time I even realized this was when I went to Beauty Dior's myspace page. Under sexual orientation it said "straight" or "hetero sexual"(can remember which one).
I was like "how can she be straight if she doing all this shit with females? It can't be just for the money can it???"
I guess I'm having a hard time comprehending it cause as a hetero sexual male, I wouldn't do any sex acts with someone for money. No matter how much money was being offered.

In porn, at least in my experience, there's the girls who really like girls (like me!!!) and the girls who are "gay-4-pay". While I was with JKP and only doing girls, there were tons of girls I had to work with that weren't really into chicks and were performing with them just for the money. I also remember growing up and being openly bi; then when girls hooking up with girls became "trendy" all of a sudden girls were pretending to be bi-sexual to get attention...anyhow I digress....but...
I don't get it! If they aren't into women they should only shoot boy-girl in my opinion. Do what you're into.. what turns you on..what gets you OFF! but I guess to these "gay-4-pay" girls its such easy money for them that it doesn't matter if they really like pussy or not.
P.S.- I LOVE pussy.. and cock.. and cum... :-)

There was an interesting experiment decades ago on what turns on women (Was it UC berkeley?) It turned out that women are turned on by watching women undressing a lot more than by watching men doing so. Scientists were putting "social" spin on this, but I personally disagree. IMHO women are biologically more bi-prone.

Well, they are paid to do it so you're not gonna know one way or another unless they seem really into it. And then they might just be really good at pretending. But generally, women are nowehere near as homophobic as a lot of men are so who knows?

But this is the part I don't understand.
All these women who do it for the money must have a little part of them that is bi-sexual.
I just can't seem them doing it if they were 100% hetero.
I guess what I'm saying is I can't see anyone degrading themself that way for money. It's one thing if your even a little bi-curious to do it but if you don't like it all..I think your degrading yourself.

Again...there's not as much of a stigma on lesbians as there is on gay men. There still is some. Just not nearly as much. Women don't have some macho tough guy image they have to try and live up to.
They're already doing porn for money so what's the difference? Many of them don't really get off on it. They just lay there and get fucked and collect a paycheck. What difference does it make?

Define "degrading" please.
Would it surprise you to learn that porn isn't about being addicted sex but rather addicted to money?

You'd only believe this if you were under the delusional idea that homosexuality is a genetic trait rather than a learned behavior. I imagine it's the fault of dishonest liberalism promoting an agenda based on a false premise.
If you really want to learn about sexuality, you should do some research as well as think about how you learn your own sexuality. How society reinforces is through socialization.
The porn industry is actually a great example of an environment that socializes its customers to find particular forms of sex acceptable. It is only personal taboos that prevent a more wide spread socialization process.
If you were to show children porn from a young age, they wouldn't know the difference between what mainstream society considers acceptable "normal" sexual behavior versus what you watch in pornography.
Sexual socialization is a misunderstood subject because the religious right attributes sexuality to god, while the scientific left is fighting them by attributing sexuality to genetics.
If there were ever to real, open discussion of how sexuality really works, America would have to stop blusing and being completely embarassed about the subject. I don't expect that to happen anytime soon.
Bottom line truth is that a heterosexual man can be sexually stimulated by homosexual sex, it is only the social taboos he has accepted through socialization that prevent this from happening. Just as the social taboos at one time in Greece made is so homosexuality was as far as we know common, acceptable, and widespread. Because you can teach an entire society to bisexual, all the males and all the females if the society allowed it.
But you'll have to do your own reading if you want to learn how sexual orientation really comes about. It has nothing to do with God and genetics, it has far more to do with your personal experiences (such as how early you develop sexual feelings and what kind of interactions you have in your youth) and the way socialiation affects you. Whether you accept or reject particular impulses based on the social taboos placed upon them.
But we often don't get a clear picture of how sexuality works because of the fight between right and left that makes ideology rather than truth more important.

Sorry for being so blunt but gee you may try to spin all you want but male homosexuality is by far genetic. Female homosexuality is entirely different animal though.

Some of this may have an element of truth but you're sadly mistaken if you think a person who ends up 100% gay didn't have a natural inclination to it from birth.
A straight man can be sexually stimulated by having sex with other men. This is true. A straight (or gay) man can be sexually stimulated from humping a bed. What does that prove? It proves that a man who is horny enough might fuck anything.

I am, I enjoy girls foreplay, they are much better at being a toy then most men iv fucked. Girls seem to know what's what, and my best scenes have been with girls because we just KNEW, I am able to read the energy given off by other girl. That is if they like girls. If a girl don't like girls, but the one girls does, its the same as if you were fucking a guy you weren't attractive to. That's what I think.

Interesting topic. Here is my spin on it:
I think a higher percentage of girls in porn are bi than girls in general. I do think the majority are straight though. I think there are 3 reasons that so many girls are gay-for-pay in porn:
1) Socializing and culture, they have grown up with a popular culture that is very positive toward girl/girl and the female body is admired a lot more than a male body.
2) Lesbian sex is "safer" and "cleaner" than m/f or m/m.
3) There is a huge market demand for lesbian sex, predominantly from men.

As for bisexuality in general, my theory is that men are just as predisposed to it as women. But western culture (and most cultures) emphasizes women as much more desirable and sexually attractive than men. So more men end up never exploring or acknowledging it at all, while women have much fewer obstacles for acknowledgement. I don't really think everyone is "bisexual", I think the vast majority has (by nature) a preference for the opposite sex, but I do think that a lot can be "learned" or "explored" depending on what you would prefer to call it.

I recall reading the biography of Roy Cohn, the closeted gay NY lawyer & legal council to Sen. Joe McCarthy of communist which junting fame during the 1950's, by Morely Safer (60 Minutes).
In the book Safer mentioned homosexuality was considered, during the 19th and early 20th century, as something someone did not what they were.
Life experience suggests to me that humans are all capable of being bi-sexual, It's, as amneth said in the earlier post, socialization that keeps our behavior in check. IMHO

I agree with John and Clam. Though the taboo is too strongly embedded in our society, there shouldn't be a stigma if some men want to explore bisexuality, especially if bisexuality among women is embraced.

most chicks in porn are bi, not to say all but in reality the incidence of bisexuality in pornchicks and dancers is way above the average of those who aren't. In some cases that may be what draws them to this line of work to begin with so I wouldn't look for a being a stripper turned my into a lesbian kind of cause and effect.
Funny when Kayden Kross and I went to Flamingo Showclub in Ohio (My best friend Tim Case manages it) one of his peelers named Serenity actually came to me and said she would for sure be bi for Kayden. Now I have known Serenity for a very long time and she has always insisted that she would never do a girl, just wasn't interested, so this somewhat surprised me.

Almost all of the porn girls that i've met and got to know have had at least one off-screen sexual relationship with another woman.
But let's not stop with porn girls.
Maybe it's just that women are willing to experiment more sexually. Think mainstream: Lindsay Lohan, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Pink, to name the ones who we know have played for the home team.

My experience in the industry has been mixed. I've been turned down by some girls, but I've also gotten a few calls back after shoots. I've had the most fun with Joanna Angel, so far.

I think a lot of girls are bi-for-pay in this industry, unfortunately. It's such a tease when you do a threesome scene with a girl and try to invite her back from some cocktails and fun and they turn you down. It's like, wait, we already explored each other - can't I spoil you more? But no. Oh well.

One thing that has not been said already is porn girls lead somewhat "isolated," maybe lonely, lives--like many celebrities or public figures.
And porn girls are also constantly being hit on by guys, whenever they are out in public, who just want to fuck them. So having a galpal they can talk to, share her thoughts with, and even be "intimate" with, satisfies their needs for real intimacy.

As a porn star, I think it's hard to find women friends outside of porn. Misunderstanding and jealousy can come up.
As far as isolated, I can't speak for everyone, but I don't feel that way, but then, I haven't had anyone recognize me yet, so maybe I'm speaking too soon. And yes, it's annoying when guys hit on you, especially when you're wearing a wedding ring.

I'm not so convinced porn girls are hit on all the time, especially not for being porn stars. I mean, not even all young people would recognize Jenna Jameson. And far fewer would recognize Jewel DeNyle or Eva Angelina, although they are quite big stars. Some of the lesser known stars would 99% of the time be totally anonymous. But I do think a certain isolation comes with the job, a certain nervousness or annoyance over the possibility of being recognized when you don't want to.
Since I'm neither a girl nor in the business I won't make any guesses about whether that leads them to connect better with their own sex or not. As I sad earlier I think that its a sliding scale. But if you are truly bisexual you will of course want to enjoy both sexes, and there is a chance more bisexual girls will be drawn to the industry. But I think most of them just find out that girl/girl sex pays well, is relatively "clean", and that they are open to "learn" to do it despite being straight just because of their open minded approach to things that led them to a porn carreer in the first place.

....with no real expertise, aside from what I read here and there...
Even when a porn girl goes un-recognized say at the Jr. college or some other none porn place, meeting a male and having any sort of relationship, is a challenge. I imagine every girl has to figure out when should she bring up what she does for a living. If she waits until she has made an emotional investment the likely hood of the relationship growing unfortunately will diminish as trust between them will be difficult going forward. If he is upfront about it, then the guy will likely fixate on the porno side of things.
I can easily see how g/g relationships between the female performers could/can easily flourish.

Might want to get used to that. As long as you're attractive and female, that's going to happen. Quite a few men don't even take their own wedding ring very seriously. Why would they take someone else's ring any more seriously than their own? Unless your husband is big and mean looking and you take him everywhere with you.

Whenever I'm back east, I'm always with my husband when I'm out in public, but when I work in LA it's different 'cause he's not there. I get freaked out when men approach me these days; I never know if they know I'm a pornstar. I really have no claim to fame yet, but the thought frequents my mind. Just because a girl does porn doesn't mean she's a slut in her personal life, or that she can be bought as a hooker, or at least in my case, I'm neither.
I'm not sure if this is normal in LA, but recently I was sitting at a coffee shop and I was approached by an older guy and right away he asked if I would accompany him in Vegas that night and through the weekend. I told him I was married and he still insisted I go with him in his private jet and that he would spoil me with shopping. I wonder, how common is this for young women? I suppose there are girls that would take him up on the offer, since he had no shame asking a stranger. He must have done it before. But still, how odd.
But back to topic at hand, I know that if I wasn't with my husband, I'd be seeking female companions - wait - I still am seeking female companions, even though I am married. HEHE.
Question: Would you think it's hot if your porn star wife brought home another porn star (female, of course) to play with? Would you be turned on or freaked out? Would there be any concerns you'd have?

Welcome to LA.
I know quite a few pretty college girls in LA, and it happens to them all the time. It even happened to the girl I was having lunch with at LA Century City...in the three minutes that I was away in the Mens Room.
The guys aren't always old (many are D-List rockers), and the girls often say yes. So the practice continues.

I like women and I like being with them sexually. But, I am happily married to a man. I could not see myself living in a daily situation with another woman, but I would miss the pleasure that I have with them on occasion.

I know a lot of girls (both in and out of the industry) that say they really enjoy girls but only see themselves in a long term relationship or married to a guy. I'm like that too, I like to look at girls and play with them and I love having girl friends but would consider myself heterosexual when it comes to my relationship goals.
Honestly I think more people have a level of bisexuality than they realize. We're raised in a culture that shows us very clear ideas and imagery of how things should be and we're rarely encouraged to questions these ideas. I find that there is a greater level of bisexuality in groups of people that have already challanged traditional sexual mores such as people in the BDSM lifestyle or in pornography. It leaves me wondering whether these people are drawn to these lifestyles because they already know they have differing sexual interests or if by taking the time to question and explore themselves they find themselves open to many more experiences than what is commonly accepted as normal.
About two years ago I would have said "I am 100% straight, no interest in girls here." :P As I started to explore my sexuality and to be open to lifestyles I had previously judged I found myself opening up to parts of myself that I had never considered before...namely the desire to be buried in big soft boobies!
