Are ejaculatory orgasms always essential during sex?Don't
the best love making sessions always rely on being continent
and conserving ones energies, rather than dissipating them
away in useless losses of vital erotic energy, which always
leaves you sullen and depressed rather than elated?

I doubt many would agree, but that's because sex for many is
performed in the manner that they adopted in adolescence:no
one ever taught them that they could increase their enjoyment from sex greatly by practicing continence. It also
greatly intensifies affection for one's women partners.;the
other method always reduces your attraction to them.

If practiced long enough,it's even possible to experience
orgasms without ejaculating, but that usually takes at least
a year of effort.

That doesn't sound very fun.

when my lady is HOT she needs to be cooled down, with a healthy dose of sperm!! HOT HOT creamy sperm. The goal of jacking, fingering the pussy, fucking, is to cum. Delaying the GIANT O is fun too, but nothing like having sex...then stoping completly w/o the big O.

If I suddenly lost my dick to something like, say dick cancer, I don't know what I'd do. I wouldnt be able to spew on my face

don juan,

Isn't this a repeat of the thread that you just bumped?

Also, when you speak of continence and 'useless loss of vital erotic energy' you are throwing in a lot of religious idealogy, and I think most people would agree that religions in general are very much against porn.

Perhaps this somewhat anti-porn stance is why you are not getting a great deal of responses.

I certainly do believe that porn is in need of a lot of improvement.Starting off with a better term for its self than 'porn'.

Religion and a lot of the messes that religion has started could use a lot of improvement too. Perhaps a better term than religion is in order?

I agree w/DD. Religion fucks up porno lovers minds. We don't need a Catholic discussion about its theory of sexual ethics.

A lot of us have commented that standard porn is formulaic and covers only a certain range of sexual activities. By its nature, it is limited to things that have visual appeal, or that the producers think will sell, etc.

We had an earlier thread on multiple male orgasms (which rely on techniques of ejaculatory control and learning to orgasm without ejaculation), which I evidently find interesting (ahem), being as how I started that thread and all.

Although, my husband isn't sullen or depressed after an orgasm. He's rather happy and solicitous.

No, obviously not.

Well, that's a question tied to an invalid conclusion. As to the question, the answer is no. Sometimes the best sex is hot and short.

I assume that what you're talking about when you speak of continence is the practice of Karezza, since the Catholic 'continence' refers to not having sex at all. This practice, described in the Kama Sutra, wasn't to avoid orgasm but to prolong enjoyment before reaching it.

I'm not sure where you get your 'loss of energy' and 'sullen and depressed' remarks. If they reflect your personal experience then they suggest you're suffering from a neurological problem and a visit to a neurologist may be in order.

BTW, I looked at DenverDon's link on continence and had to laugh. The reason men going into battle have been urged to celibacy isn't because of a loss of energy, as the treatise suggests, but of aggression. The two aren't synonymous.

Yes indeed,Karezza was what I had in mind;my use of the term
'continence' carries no religious connotation whatsoever.

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia continence is nearly the same as abstinence, with some modifications.
But I believe if don juan's post channels any religious symbolism it is more Buddhist, which uses elements of sexual regulation in meditation and to achieve greater wisdom. But its more of a personal thing rather than an attempt to achieve a greater connection with a partner. I am reading a book by the Dalai Lama that addresses the subject in passing.
I can't say what its like for men, but the only time I feel sullen and depressed after an orgasm is when I do it alone. It doesn't happen that often, but never with a partner.

Lemonaid-I would suggest if you intend to continue being a contributing member of the forum you tame your sniping tongue. I've noticed in a couple threads now your being rather bitchy. Chill out.

Having sex with out ejaculating is like chewing food without swallowing. At least for a guy, IMHO.

I felt the same way,but you can indeed recalibrate the
nervous system to the extent that not ejaculating actually
brings greater pleasure. It just takes practice and discipline.

Mod Note: Spew and don juan,

Cease with throwing out the religious comments, or what you may think are stereotypes. Having discussions are fine but these types of comments are not productive at all.
