Being from a small town I have never been around anyone in the business, though I know I'd feel very intimidated if I ever saw any of the top stars. Then if I were able to overcome that I would be terrified of bothering them because I'm sure they get starstruck fans everyday. Anyone want to share any stories of interaction?
I found my fave porn actor on Facebook and sent him a "Hi, you're my favourite, keep up the good work" message, but didn't receive a reply (not that I was really expecting one). It didn't matter though, I was just glad of the opportunity to tell him. He's French, not very well known as far as I can see but I suppose it depends on the person, some will probably be friendly, others perhaps not so much? Sorry this is not a more positive story!
I saw Gauge walking out of the Gap on the 3rd Street Promenade and I was speechless. I gawked at her like she was Angelina Jolie. I wanted to tell her that I was a big fan, but I thought if I did she would see in my eyes and hear in my voice that I have jacked-off to her roughly five hundred times. She looked like a normal girl, though. She was tiny and no one seemed to notice her but me.
Like the previous poster said, it does vary from person to person. The environment in which you are meeting them plays a part as well. Personally I’ve met a handful of girls and I would say on a whole the majority of them we’re not only approachable, but also gracious and happy to talk to a fan. There we’re a few exceptions but that is to be expected. Don’t be afraid. Worst-case scenario they are rude and walk on. Can’t hurt none to try. Would say the same for any celebrity encounter, really.
true. i've only seen porn stars in vegas at the convention or at strip clubs out in queens. always pretty approachable since that's kind of the idea. but like you were saying, if i happened to see a porn star i'm into walking down the street, i probably wouldn't approach. i've seen other celebs in times square or in restaurants and stuff in manhattan, and i've seen people going up, but i just feel awkward. just let them have their space.
By some stroke of luck, I happened upon one of my favs at an Ozzfest in South Florida back in '03, and she was an absolute doll. Even if you really like an actress because she's hot, the actress can at least assume that you like her because of her acting skills or other accomplishments. Meeting a porn star however and gushing about what a fan you are essentially means "I've beat my nuts until they hurt while looking at every angle of your naked body." Socially awkward at best.
Hahahaha I completely sympathise and understand you there, I think I would feel exactly the same if I saw one of my favourite pornstars. But then I suppose if they're comfortable with it, it's all good. I mean I think if you went up to say Tory Lane and said how big of a fan you were she would probably be quite thrilled and flattered.

Outside of work-related appearances, you might not recognize many of the ladies in their everyday lives. When they have had their full studio make-up on & ready for a shoot or apperance, they often look totally different in their everyday lives. In many cases they could walk right by you while in their everyday street clothes and you would not suspect that it is your favorite adult performer.
I'm pretty sure I never would and never enough to be sure. I dont think I would if they were sitting beside me but maybe Im just not all that observant, i dunno
A face (and mouth, and tongue) that I have watched get splattered with cum is a face I would recognize. Always. That shit gets burned into your memory. And you never forget the face of a pretty girl. That's just human nature.

Maybe you would..but most people would not. They would think "Maybe that's her" but most wouldn't be 100% sure. What I have found from my little bit of experience is that real-live porn stars are sort of like mafia godfathers. No one that you know ever knew or saw one except in pictures or movies/video. Unless you live in very specific parts of the country, you don't see someone like Bella coming out of the grocery store. So..while you may be an exception..most people might think so..but wouldn't be certain.

But remember that they usually have their clothes on in public so you can't always be sure its them. Some are easy to recognize, but others not so. I saw a box cover girl in Vegas and I wasn't completely sure if it was her, so I said to her that she looked familiar and did she do any modeling. She smiled, winked, and said "sort of." That was all it took and we both knew we were on the same page. Other than that, of course stars of any sort are always approachable, just on how you go about doing it. If porn girl xyz is in the supermarket with her parents or kids, it's just polite not to tell them how you enjoyed their performance in "Drinking cumfarts with a straw 7." Treat any person you meet just like you wanted to be treated. Say, hi, introduce yourself, offer a hand to shake and tell them, "I love your work" and go about your business. That's my point. My husband is retired from the radio business. For several years he was part of a morning show that often had porn stars come to visit in their studio. Now remember, this is 7am in some radio station. He has pictures of himself with Belladonna, Stephanie Swift, Chloe, Sydnee Steele, Alexandra Silk, Vandalia, Chessie Moore and a few others. Virtually all of them are wearing street clothes, often loose, floppy items, hats and so on. Later on, he became the manager of another radio station and he had all those pictures hung up on his office wall. With almost no exception people coming into his office had no idea who these people were until he told them if he was asked. I adore Bella..I always have..but I can tell you for certain, that I would not have known it was her if I had seen her the way she was dressed in the picture with my husband. For another example..a couple of years ago I had a website called MooreMounds that I did with Chessie Moore. My own son, who has no idea that his mommie isn't virginal, managed to bounce onto the MooreMounds website, and took a good look at his mother and Chessie side by side faces out and he had no idea that he was looking at his mother! All he said was..Oh God! It's a porn site for FAT people!! And so it goes....
I have a silly theory that the more they are willing to do on camera the more approachable they'd be, like it'd be easier to get attention from Kristina Rose than say Sunny Leone or Riley Steele.

Not at all, as I said, it's all in your approach and of course, if they're in character or not. Plus you really have to have something more to say than, "heh heh, you're so hot, heh heh" Think about it,I've been fortunate to meet all sort of celebs through my job as an Event Manager and people always ask, "do you get to meet the stars?" I always say, "sure, but I'm usually working, so unless I needed by that person at that moment, I'm usually doing other things." I then say, "besides, what am I really going to say to them!" I then give them the following scenario, "I'm the star of your choice right in front of you, right now. What are you going to say to me? Come on, I'm waiting!" You really have to be on top of it. Most times I've met stars of current TV fame, it's all 'Hi, I'm Rosco Fuji, I love your show!" and keep walking. The absolute best actual conversations I've had with talent was a 10 minute conversation about ice hockey with Randy Bachman of BTO backstage during the drum solo. I also ran into Linda Gray of Sue Ellen Ewing fame on Dallas at a play in Vegas and had a great chat with her about gun shows of all things.

No difference. Just tell them you "love their work." Jasmine Byrne caught me off guard when she threw it back to me and asked, "What specifically?" I had the deer in the headlights look with that question and she knew it, she then said, "you just love me cause I'm so nasty" and smiled.
I've never met a performer outside of their environment (i.e. Porn or Sex convention, etc.). However, I would hazard to say that it'll be related to when and where. Performers are people too! So, for instance, if you recognize your favourite performer and you notice that he or she is rushing around, I would say that he or she might not be as receptive to a fan's attention right at that instance.
Being with a pornstar that often gets approached by fans when we are in public I can tell you the dos and donts... Donts 1) approach if she is with her extended family ...mothers, fathers sisters and especially children 2) grab them or touch them in anyway... they think pyscho and walk away... 3) tell them in a loud voice how you love they way she ______ (insert sexual act) 4) tell them in a loud voice how you loved her performance in _______ (insert stupid porn title such as "Cum Gobblers 4... if it sounds mainstream feel free to use the title 5) Asking them out on dates or if she escorts... Another thing to consider is the "appropriateness" of the venue. MOST "public" people whether they are porn stars, screen stars, musicians, radio/TV people will be quite friendly if they are meeting you at a convention, club or set-up appearence. But...public people should be able to have a personal side of their lives. Many of the porn ladies have little children. If they are out with the kids, leave them alone. I also don't think it's cool if you see them at the Safeway to run up and offer to help them pick out their groceries. If you're in a restaurant and you see them at a nearby table, be very careful about how you would choose if or if not to approach them. YOU have no idea who they are with. As Pornlaw wisely pointed out, the man sitting with her might be her husband. It might be her lawyer. BUT..it might be the lady's grandfather, and that would be wrong. If I was eating dinner and I saw my congressman sitting two tables over, that is NOT the time to go over and harrangue him about a vote he made that you don't like.
