| TOToker New Member 5 Posts 8/17 | I've always wondered just HOW well these tests work. Is it common for warts to be present I've heard that is common. Or are their cases of clap or gono that just go unnoticed since it is not HIV? Soooooo many performers escort I just don't see how stuff doesn't slip through since no one really uses condoms anymore. The statistics aside should say there are some actresses or actors with something. [Link] |
| AngryPirate Senior Member 3210 Posts 8/17 | You're also looking at this the wrong way. The test isn't the problem but rather the sexual behaviour of the performers as the tests are only 100% guaranteed until he/she engages in some form of sexual contact with another person. If Performer X only has sex with Performer Y since both were given negative test results, there's no problem as STIs aren't spontaneously generated. However if Performer X gets a negative test result, has sex with Mainstream A then has sex with Performer Y, there is a possibility of contraction/transmission of an STI as Mainstream A may not have been tested. Who said that performers DON'T use condoms when escorting? You're making a huge presumption there. |
| AngryPirate Senior Member 3210 Posts 8/17 | Perhaps the most notable cases are Mr. Marcus effectively becoming blacklisted for exposing a performer to syphilis and Brian Pumper being dropped by Evil Angel for falsifying positive test results. |
| A_Fan Deactivated User 1187 Posts 9/16 | You do realize performers act like the rest of us and have hookups in bars and clubs and internet and personal dating and relationships, and so forth. STIs can come from anywhere. Most porn escorting is condom only and many of the girls actually ask the clients to produce tests. Sure, a regular with a lot of cash might get bareback with someone. But try showing up for a porn escorting appointment with an extra grand and see if you get bareback, you will likely be thrown out the door and if you argue you can expect someone not so friendly to assist your exit. They won't risk their career just so they can make an extra few hundred bucks one night. This isnt the same as general escorting where bareback is quite easy to obtain. Those ladies are not testing 14 days and don't have a career on the line like that. The girls who escort (most of them), are passing 14 day industry tests year round; so if there was some epidemic of girls getting STI's from escorting, we would know about it. Heck, the last porn girl I booked asked me to get two 14 day industry standard tests and even picked the facility for me in my city. She takes her career seriously. Performers have noted that they might get one of the curable ones 3 or 4 times in their careers from working on set. Herpes is kind of a given anyways, even in the general population, so they don't bother testing for that. All the other stuff they have to pass or they don't work. I have watched a lot of porn, genital warts are not something you see "commonly" in scenes. If a performer happened to have an outbreak they would be sent home, have to medicate it until it goes away, etc. Condoms don't stop the spread of those as they can be found in various areas that a condom won't cover. Scroguard never took off :) Edited by - A_Fan on 9/12/2017 1:06:51 AM |

| Riograndeler Senior Member 1033 Posts 11/08 | Tests are good, but risk always will be real. Fact! This is not what we want to see in porn!Performers explain. Casey Calvert: Casey Calvert: Why I Dont Want Condoms: A Porn Performers Perspective "... Right now I very rarely use a condom at work. If the company requires it (which some do), or if my scene partner would prefer it, I don't argue. But let me make it very clear that I prefer shooting without them ... " " ..The scenes filmed under the requirements of A.B. 1576 will simply not be as good as the scenes we film now, and the porn audience is extraordinarily particular. There is very little loyalty. If they aren't completely satisfied with the product, they will go somewhere else. They don't want condoms, and they do not want lackluster scenes ... " "...Just like stunt workers or professional athletes, we risk our health for the purpose of entertainment..." Cherie Deville: Cherie Deville speaks out against Prop 60 "The real thing is everyone knows the dangers of unprotected sex. We take those risks every time we go to work." "I can't think of a job that has no risks at all. Even someone with a desk job can get carpal tunnel syndrome or cervical spine issues. I accept the risks of this job. I would like the government to respect that I am allowed to do as I chose with my body." "We use our bodies to bring joy and entertainment to the viewer!" Porn consumers always ask for this!! We want - they do! |
| pat362 Senior Member 10083 Posts 3/10 | As far as I can tell the general consensus in the porn industry is that condoms are bad for business. Now performers may or may not know that they have the right to request a condom for their scene but they probably know or suspect that doing so is likely to get the unofficially blacklisted from future jobs. Of course if you work for Wicked like Casey and Cherie both did multiple times then I guess you keep you keep your (supposed) opinion on condoms to yourself because Wicked is a condom only studio. That's why I tend to be weary of the opinions of performers whenever they say they are anti-condoms because unless you only work for Wicked. Being a pro-condom performer is probably a terrible idea. Ultimately the discussion about condoms should be as simple as helmet for motorcyclist, hard hats for construction sites and any other safety measure implemented to protect the health and safety of individuals. Condoms are designed for two purposes. 1- To prevent the transmission of STI's. 2-To prevent the transmission of sperm that could lead to pregnancy. They are not 100% effective but they are certainly better than nothing and for that simple reason should always be used for penetration sex in porn. |
| Riograndeler Senior Member 1033 Posts 11/08 | Casey Calvert explain: The Only Worker Prop 60 Helps is Michael Weinstein Casey Shares Why You Should Be Against Prop 60 "First of all, I totally agree that a condom is the best option for use during almost any sexual encounter. The only time I don't want to use a condom is while shooting a porn scene, for a few reasons: I have a latex allergy, and cannot use latex condoms. There are some awesome non-latex condoms on the market, but the downside to them is that they are even more prone to breakage than a latex condom. That means even more stopping and starting to fix the broken condom during the hour or so of sex to shoot a scene. Because, yes, they just end up breaking. Also, no matter how much lube you use, I find that condoms chafe, especially for anal, which as you know, I shoot a lot of. And a chafed hole is one more prone to infectious disease transmission - the condom ends up defeating its own purpose." |

| AngryPirate Senior Member 3210 Posts 8/17 | The point is that his non-performing status is the consequence of that incident as a return to performing (clean results or not) could harm the industry's reputation with some greasy lawyer/politician/businessman using his example to have more legislation passed. In short, mud sticks. |
| lily_cade Member 121 Posts 5/10 | I was insulated from the worst of it because of being girl/girl only on and off camera and having the constitution of an ox, but I always felt the risk was worth it. On the one hand, I might catch staph from a vile porn couch but on the other hand I fucked hot chicks for a living. |
| A_Fan Deactivated User 1187 Posts 9/16 | I don't see anyone crapping on the male performers for picking up non industry chicks at bars, parties, tinder, etc and pulling the "are you clean? I am a tested performer, let's just go for it". Edited by - A_Fan on 9/16/2017 4:28:51 PM |
| LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | He didn't seem to grasp that tests aren't just papers to get for bureaucracy but an actual first line of group defense against STDs and especially the incurable ones like AIDS On another hand he had the ability to convince some girls to try porn and very likely wanted to shoot before they change their mind or somebody could talk them out ,the one of the test was said to be a 18 YO girl just out of High School and he didn't think she could have had anything , it turned out she already had chlamidya |
| LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | It might have been another movie though , they shot quite a lot of flicks together at that time , they were a real life couple back then and the Industry exploited that. That scene was weird, if Faye had any STD Georgia would have known and likely had it herself but nothing of that sort ever came out nor was shown in any movie prior or after that scene , I wasn't and still am not completely convinced it wasn't a forged flick/gif It was appalling though it almost looked like her pussy had teeth Edited by - LCF on 9/17/2017 4:47:35 PM |
