It is widely regarded that men are visual creatures and women are not, that they are turned on by what they hear. How is it then that women(on this site and in general)are always saying how hot/gorgeous/sexy/ other women are, purely on a visual basis, but rarely say this about men. What are your opinions? M and F. Does this statement of mine hold any truth?.

Of course women are visual - look at Brad Pitt, Colin Farrell, Robert Redford and Paul Newman (the last two in the 1970s). They are hardly bad-looking guys and a lot of women find them irresistible. They are all very good actors, yes but they're unlikely to be as appealing to women if they didn't have their looks.
I'm sure that I'd be more successful with women if I were much better looking.
There is science between sex and appearance in animals - attractive-looking specimens are likely to have attractive-looking offspring which in turn are likely to have attractive-looking offspring and so on and so forth. For example, during courtship the female Japanese Scorpion Butterfly picks the male that has the most symmetrical wings.

Certainly to some degree but not nearly to the extent that men seem to be.

ok then here is a question. if women are less visual then why is there so many women that are attracted to both sexes as opposed to men who are prodominantely attracted to just one sex. surely your sexual orientation is largely based on what you are attracted to visually. By this calculation women surely are more visual? playing devils advocate.

I think women are more visual than they would like us men to believe. As a man, I'm super visual. I have put up with alot of crap from woman I have dated or tried to date, ONLY because they were hot. In the past, I didn't give a damn about their brains, social skills, likes or dislikes. It was face, ass, tits, and pussy ...Period!

bigbadwolf16669 to answer your question. I watch about 3-5 movies a week. I'm a member of two(exclusive content) pornsites. No porn magazines.

I've noticed the same thing on this site, with respect to what the porn actresses who post here have to say. They will often talk enthusiastically about how hot another actress is, how much they want to do a scene with her, etc. Yet, the same actresses rarely mention any of the actors, which men they want to work with, or what it was like to work with a certain actor.

Since I'm not in the porn industry, I haven't a clue why this is.

For myself, the only times I've mentioned any woman is when I've felt her performance was great - I really don't care what they look like, or how well their body parts all go together. That's not my interest.

On the other hand, I've posted over and over again about certain actors, what I like about them, what I like about their looks and their style, what I wish was different, what kind of work I wish they would do more of.

To be honest, all this lesbianism is just a big bore to me. I fast forward through any lez footage whenever I come across it.

Good to hear your opinions renee, i always like reading what you have to say. To me it seems that many of the women that comment on other womens looks/body etc are probably bisexual, especially the performers i.e selena silver, tricia etc. Thus they may see women in the same way that straight/bi men do. i.e in a visual sense. (not a criticism):- They almost objectify women like men do, although if men do this we are told that women are more than just a piece of flesh. I say if women are seen as objects of desire, then so men should be also, or will this never be possible as if women say they like women it is o.k( you are almost like one of the lads) but if you say you have a healthy appetite men and their body parts you are still seen in the whore/slut role. I for one would love to see more women see us men as objects that they can just get sexual pleasure from, as i know there is also more to me than just a physical entity. I apologise if this rant may have caused offence. england.

Women are equally aroused by visual stimuli. It has been proven repeatedly in well regarded peer reviewed studies wherein different physiological parameters were monitored inclusive of breathing rate, pulse rate, blood pressure and multiplexed galvanometers wherein galvanic resistance that is a measure of the degree of vaginal mucosal tissue lubrication shows they are aroused.

Most women in these studies deny they are aroused when their physiological markers shows otherwise. Anthropolgically, it is useful for males to denigrate females for being promiscuous as condemnation serves as an attempt to reduce the possibility that a man is expending precious resources to rear what may not be his genetic makeup.

For women, society conditions them to follow this as once she is pregnant it is considered less useful to continue to be promiscuous. Some hypothesize that some women do not like women who are promiscuous as if men can more freely engage in physical pleasure, some women perceive a potential loss in the ability to manipulate men via the rationing of pleasure.

The near universal claim by U.S. women that womens bodies are more artistic then mens is a uniquely American construct, as Euopean women LOVE mens bodies whereas women who allege heterosexuality here make fun of athletic guys in speedos.

It is remarkable that male homosexuals appreciate the male body and the apperance of a guys gear more then most allegedly heterosexual women .

England (and anyone else),

To get a better take on what women porn fans respond to when watching films, go and read the reviews that a couple of us have written. There are mine, and quite a few from Dumblonde, lindi, and Yogagrrl. I think you'll find that there's mainly an emphasis on the hotness and authenticity of the performances, rather than how "HOT" a male or female performer simply looks.

I would say that Luke Hanson is pretty much on the mark in his post. It is way more socially acceptable for men to say they are aroused by visual images than it is for a woman to say so. All that social conditioning has an effect, after all.

And yet..... companies that make underwear for men know that, at least in the US, a majority of it is bought by women, for their husbands, partners, boyfriends, etc. A good reason why they use those sexy-looking male models on the package covers. It's not like the women making these purchases don't notice that tall, slim, muscular guy in his Calvin Kleins.

Believe me, if someone asks, I can tell them what brand of underwear Nacho Vidal, Rocco Siffredi, Michael Stefano and Erik Everhard wear (it's plain for anyone to notice in their films).

Renee, thanks, I like it when anybody agrees with me ;)

To add, we who study behavioral anthropology know that human females are designed to be promiscuous partially proven by the fact that male humans are usually unaware when a human female comes into estrous.

Other unmistakable clues are the end of a guys dick with the forward tapered geometry of the glans and the coronal ridge geometry are designed to act as a semen removal suction device.

We would not be adapted geometrically as such if women were monogomous as natural selection usually does not occur if a trait servess no purpose although clearly there are exceptions.

What a wonderful world it would be if women could feel free of censure and just enjoy the beauty of the male.....and if the porn industry would cater to the feminin eye just a bit more. I am not saying that what there is now, is not visually stimulating to women, it could just be so much more!! Just as most heterosexual men do not enjoy watching men fondling and kissing each other, I am not sure why women are supposed to find this same thing erotic when it comes to the inevitable lesbian scene in so many movies. Thank god for fast forward!!!! Just as camera angles can enhance and display the beauty of the female form, so should it be for the male form. There is nothing to compare to the well formed ass and genitals of a man!!! I could gaze at that for quite some time.......every chance I get actually....lol If more of us women would just admit that we LOVE to look too, I think we would all be happier

Shelby, you have a nice attitude about guys.....I hope your male friends recognize it.... :)

I think the thing behind guys watching two feminine women go at it is guys see two women engaging in sexual abandon, and there are no issues of competing with other males to cross the viewing male's wires....and it is double the visusal stimuli.

But I agree, most but not all women I know aren't into watching two women.
