Have you considered the "Hygiene hypothesis" (or "3 grams of dirt/day hypothesis") about the increase in the frequency of autoimmune diseases in modern societies? This is one of the leading theories about why autoimmune diseases like type 1 diabetes, chrohns disease, lupus, allergies and many others appear more frequent, with the cause being the decrease in general exposure to bacteria and other microorganisms, which leads to an increase of immune cells not developing specificity towards pathogens, and thereby increasing the risk of them developing specificity towards receptors in the body.
It could very well be that both rimming and a2m are very healthy practices that are highly recommendable for all to engage in.
