I'd opine that a number of things that have gone from shocking, to controversial, to normal in American mainstream porn, usually had something to do with Max Hardcore. All the things that I remember people jumping up and down about him doing 10-15 years ago, including A2M, girls tongue-mining guys assholes, really messy facials, spitting in porn, throat gagging, and especially, anal gaping, are all pretty much standard fare in porn now. And the emphasis on teen and teen-like appearance of the girls that he was known for, created a whole new niche for porn.
