I'm not a huge fan of those never ending close-up on anal gaps, but when I saw Aurora in Flesh Hunter 1 & 3, I felt in love with this lovely girl. It breaks continuity and there is no compositional, realistic or intertexual motivation for it at all. Only reason I can think of is that the makers realized they couldn't make it work.Could you elaborate? Here is my take. Visual style can be broken down into three techniques, which of course work together to create the overall style: They made a particular choice in the mise-en-scene -- the revolving platform -- which fucked up both the cinematopgraphy -- framing and timing of (camera) movement are all over the place -- and the editing -- to salvage what they could they were forced to edit all the scenes as if they were compilation sequences. In the end, the revolving set also messed up the most important part of the mise-en-scene itself: figure expression and movement. Again, timing and -- IMO the most important part of pornographic mise-en-scene -- spontaneity all went out the window because the revolving platform is dictating the choreography. And of course it also played havoc on the lighting. With a subject that keeps turning, the only thing that you can do is to highlight everything and every angle. Hence, not only is there no context, but the lighting itself is as flat as it can be. Porn is repetitive and mechanical as it is. The revolving set only makes that impression worse, turn after turn after turn...
