For the sheer erotic power of her performances I have to say Cytherea is number one for me this year.

To complete my top three, Alicia Rhodes and Ariana Jollee have also been a tremendous pleasure to watch.

Katrina is my favorite performer out of that group.

Lately, AVN has been showing favor to girls that are good performers, but maybe don't quite have the 'Vivid girl' look.

So I'll keep my hopes up.
I just hope if they go the non-contract girl route they base it on all-around appeal, and not on which girl did the most circus acts.

I totally agree with your last sentence Tricia. I think it would be a bad idea to give the "Top Star" award to somebody simply because they did very unsafe health threatening things. Another feeling I have is this category needs to be split up. I find it impossible to pick whether a Contract Female or a Hardcore(Gonzo) Female has had a better year. I think maybe it should be split into 2 new categories. "Contract Star of the Year" and "Hardcore Female Performer of the Year" . I would really like to say Gina Lynn deserves to win this years award, but I don't know if she was in enough stuff to be a serious contender. If I had to pick right now on All Around Performer I would pick Taylor Rain , but I think Venus & Katrina Kraven are close in that respect too. I also think with the crazy circus act turn the industry has taken in recent years it might not be such a bad thing if a Contract Female wins this year. I think Savanna Samson would be worthy of Top Performer status. She had 1 of the better years a Contract Star has had in a while.

It's cool that it's mostly girls who are not contract/Vivid girls.


I narrowed my list down to ...

Ariana Jollee
Jayna Oso
Julie Night
Katja Kassin
Katrina Kraven
Lauren Phoenix
Venus

I'd say Lauren is the favorite to bet, because she has the "pretty girl" thing going for her the strongest. And Katja has an edge because she's so damn striking and has realy worked her ass off, so to speak.

But if it was Jayna or Katrina or Ariana or Julie, especially, I'd be delighted.

Of those, my guess is Ariana will win ... But I could not pick just one to root for ...

I agree and in fact CAVR will have 3 Stars Awards:
* Best New Starlet
* Best Star (Gonzo)
* Best MVP (Contract)

It is very hard to mix the 2.

Very hard to choose. Obviously, Alicia Rhodes, Ariana Jollee and Lauren Phoenix are favorites to win the AVN 2004 Female Performer of Year award.

But wait a minute where is Lisa Marie ? I think she deserves her place on the list !!!

I've been moving so I missed these nominations but I talked to Ariana yesterday and she filled me in and I must say I was thrilled to see her in this category and it's so deserved plus the rest of the girls are some of my faves to watch but I have no problems saying my hard,heart,lol, has to go with Miss Ariana Jollee!!

I agree with you guys that they should spit the . We are generalizing female talent when in reality there is a huge difference between contract girls/ girls. Take a look at the sex scenes between the two.

Going with AC's idea I take Savanna Samson as contract star of the year and Julie Night as hardcore performer of the year.
In all honesty I think Savanna has the best chance to win deserving or not because she is basically the only major contract star on the list while all others are mostly known for gonzo work. Therefore I see all the gonzo voters splitting their votes with all the other girls while those who prefer feature girls and contract stars are pretty much limited in their voting to Savanna.

Kimi Lixx,Julie Night,Tina Tyler and then everyone else.

She is so fun to watch because it's obvious that she loves what she does. She is seemingly a very sweet and genuine person and that also adds to her scenes. The fact that she lost all that weight to stay in the business says alot about how much she enjoys her proffession. I thought she was cute with the extra weight but she is downright hot now. Hopefully she gets some consideration.
