Which are your predictions for AVN 2013? IMHO, as Remy La Croix seems to be back, she is the number 1 candidate for Best New Starlet. Otherwise Jessie Rogers has the best chance. Other nominees: Annika Albrite, Leilani Leeane, Maddy O'Reilly, Naomi West, Riley Reid, Molly Bennett, Christy Mack. For performer of the year I see a great battle between Lily Carter and Jada Stevens. Skin Diamond is the outsider. Other nominees I'm pretty sure: Holly Michaels, Lily Labeau, Lexi Belle, Jessie Andrews. I would also love to see nominated Chastity Lynn.
Riley Reid should win best new starlet. Lexi Belle should win best performer because she's Lexi Belle and I don't think she's ever won this award and she deserves an award for her contribution to the History of Masturbation.

^ I have to agree with Mrs. Lee on her pick of Asa Akira as Female POTY. With all due respect to Bobbi Starr, Asa Akira was ROBBED of the Female POTY award last year and I think AVN is looking to rectify that injustice. Jenna Haze won the year she hosted, as did Tori Black. The fact that AVN pick Asa as the show host (along side Jesse Jane) bodes well for her, if history is any indicator.

I think Remy might have a shot at New Starlet as well, especially since she has recently started performing again and Jessie has announced plans to go on an extended hiatus.
You'd think AVN would avoid giving award to anyone who could be retired/on extended hiatus at the time of the show. So, that casts some doubt on Remy/Jessie. As for POTY, there's been no it girl since Tori Black left. Saw last year's pick of Bobbi Starr as more of a lifetime achievement award than anything else. I'd throw Chanel Preston's name into the mix. She's as good as any of the others mentioned here.

Well, Remy is shooting again but I don't think they care about hiatus status, since we all know what a reliable word "retirement" is in regards to porn careers. Also, they usually nominate based on a time frame that lags a bit behind the current moment. Anyway, I'd pick Remy as starlet without ruling out a Riley Reid or Annika Albright or Jessie Rogers. For best female performer, it's a shoo-in for Asa, who is way overdue. Best male, James Deen, although based mostly on the influence of his pop culture ubiquity ... I think Manuel could rightfully take it home every year for being a cut (or uncut as the case may be) above the top guys. Of course, Tim Von Swine will be shut out again. Crossover: James Deen, for sure, although Jessie Andrews might have a shot.

POTY: probably Asa Akira to make up for last year (when Bobbi won to make up for the year before that), but should be either Skin Diamond or Chastity Lynn (my vote would be for Chastity, if I had one) If they give the "Best Overlooked" or whatever the damning-with-faint-praise one was called again, Chastity for sure Best New: Anikka Albrite by a mile If they give an award for Most Delusional, it should go to . . . oh, never mind.
I'd say Tara Lynn Foxx and Tory Lane over the years and Penny Pax THIS YEAR (she's an outstanding performer), though what they did at Xbiz with Chastity is unbelievable no nomination at all , can't really see how is it even possible

Remember, other than Asia Carerra, every POTY has been white. I'd put money on Lily Carter, as she's had quite a good year. She featured in two huge releases, she does anal and interracial, and she doesn't have implants. All of those work in her favor.
Nominating 5-10 pornstars when there are literally, like, 50-100 porstars who are equally as hot is a fool's errand. There's no way to quantify who is the best when it comes to fucking. The only ballot I would consider seriously is one that is exclusively voted on by the male performers, because they are the only ones who are in a position to judge who is the best. And you will never convince me that right now, today, there are more than a couple of male pornstars who would say that Brooklyn Lee or Lily Carter is a better fuck partner than Zoey Monroe or Pressley Carter or Mandy Sky, to name three relatively newcummers who are getting a lot of work, and who will get no mention or acknowledgemnt during awards time. Maybe instead of throwing a porno prom and handing out ghastly looking plastic awards for activities that are in their own right the reward that everyone is seeking, what the porn industry should do is rent out a giant venue in Vegas and have a huge fucking orgy and film it. That would be a better culmination of the year than these stupid awards that mean shit. London Keyes deserves an award just as much as Asa Akira, and Riley Reid has been just as spectacular over the last 12 months as Remy Lacroix. It's all a matter of taste.
Btw, the awards are generally on a delay...meaning that brand new girls will likely receive recognition NEXT season. Some movies take almost a year to be released & only films released within the 12 months prior to AVN/XBIZ can be considered (October through October). Everything in due time ;). After carefully watching "Dare" i would give "Best New Starlet" to Dani Daniels, since she seems to have been candidated in that category... A performance like that definitely needs an award

It's easy to take shots at lists like the POTY nominees list, but that won't discourage me. I've greatly enjoyed some of Alexis Texas and Gracie Glam's work over the years. But, 2012 wasn't a busy year for either one. Gracie's career has been in reverse since her 2011 EA September release. She's dialed back to the infrequent g/g scene. I'd wager Alexis worked less this year than any year since she entered the porn business. As has been pointed out in the past. the Best New Starlet list contains girls who aren't really new for that year. It's always puzzling.

I believe that the "official" Best New Starlet rules state that a nominee can be in porn for up to 2 years before their nomination, but usually they go back about a year and a half (to the summer of the year before).
