I find it humourous when I read all the whining from porn "insiders" who lament the fact that the porn expo and awards were open to the fans. I find it even more funny when pornstars complain how they were relegated to the "cheap seats." Its like all of a sudden they arent part of some super exclusive club and they dont want to share the spotlight with the masses. I read one article that sounded like it was from a lawyer who was whining about how the hotel didnt treat the pornstars like the celebrities they are. ROTFLMFAO!

All I have to say is, get over yourself.

I don't think I read that article.

I certainly wouldn't whine about the events being open to the fans. I love that, but am also happy to have the trade hours where it's actually a possibility to get some business done.

And about "the hotel", I can only guess he was talking about Mandalay Bay. To not let someone like Rocco Siffredi, Belladonna, Jesse Jane or Janine through a mob of people to make it to their award show is pretty f'd up. I don't care if it was an award show for construction workers, the people being honored that night should feel like the stars they're meant to be for that night.

Tricia,

I think I read the article on the "Adult Biz Law" website but it may have originated from a local newspaper report. I believe the so-called performer "whining" was about fans sitting next to female performers (possibly at different tables) and asking them inappropriate questions like: "How much do I have to pay you to fuck you in the ass?"

Bottom line: I'm not sure it's industry folks whining, but rather they are voicing legit concerns about their comfort, respect and safety.

That is a big difference in the way that the awards show is setup now as opposed to how it was at the Venetian. In the Venetian, the awards were held in a huge ballroom that was setup with tables, like you would see at a wedding, with a stage at one end. Fans could always purchase a ticket for the awards show. But they would be seated at a table with other people who purchased less than a full table.

From what I understand, there were a very limited number of tables available at Mandalay Bay. So the remainder of the tickets were treated the same way as the old single ticket purchases were treated. Fans and porn stars would have seats next to one another.

If they are going to continue to hold the awards show at Mandalay Bay (or any other arena type setting), they should have sections reserved for industry and separate sections for the fans.

These are the type of fans I just cannot stand. Sure they may fuck for a living on camera, but to ask any of them a question like that?
I guess I am one of those fucked up people who when meeting a pornstar I don't think of the fact i watched her get a facial or rammed hard. I think of them as a regular person who entertains her fans.
If I was sitting beside say Joanna Angel, I would be talking to her like if I was sitting beside any hot babe. I sure would not be rude and say some sleazy comments. But that is me.
Is like when i got a pic with Ava Devine, I was laughing the whole time she was telling me to grab her tits and she was grabbing my dick. I could see others though when she did that to them getting all horny, I was wondering when the raincoaters would be there next to get a pic LOL.
I also think because this was the first time at MB they held the awards the problems will be ironed out next year.

i herd it from many in the industry that the Mandalay Bay
was a mistake and should be reverted back to the Venetian ballroom herd this before and after seemed like a failed experiment .

I don't reveal sources on gossip forums. But they can chime in if they want. I think the bigger thing is that Mandalay really wants the awards, and is probably paying AVN nicely for the rights. So regardless if people think it sucks or not, it does't matter. I'm sure they can do a better job next year with the red carpet business, the tickets, and the security.
