"Babysitters" from Digital Playground will probably do very well, and maybe "Eden" from Adam & Eve. "Eden" is the best looking movie of the year, but that doesn't usually count. Vivid's "Debbie Does Dallas" will also be in the running for some awards. "Coming Home" (definitely the best acting in porn this year) and "Operation Desert Stormy" may also get some noms--but the military themes could hurt. As for performances, I don't really think anyone deserves Performer of the Year. There wasn't a dominate personality in the biz during 2007. So, it may be Teagan's year to win this award--in a very weak field. And a win by Teagan would be more of a "last girl standing" achievement, considering all the girls who left the biz this year. Same with Best New Starlet--no standouts that come to mind. If they changed it to "Most Promising New Starlet" then I'd go with Kayden Kross, who I think will be very, very, very big if she stays in the biz for a couple of years. Of the best individual performances, I really liked Monique Alexander's work in her anal scene in "Call Girl Confidential"--sexy, not nasty, but very hot. It was the best "first anal" in years. But, it's a Vivid production so it's not likely to win in this category, that usually goes to rougher sex scenes. Bottom line: IMO 2007 was not a great year for porn. Best New Starlet is pretty easy I think with Bree Olson being one of the top girls, Bobbi Starr won Den's award and she's great, then I'd add Shay Jordan who is very easy on the eyes and does a great BTS so those 3. As for performer of the year I'd say Jenna Haze, Bree Olson there again, Gianna Michaels. I don't think Teagan did enough to get a nom here, I'd say look out for her next year though if she's not considered a contract girl then yeah I'd put here in. As for movie, Upload easily, Fashionistas 3 easily, Babysitters, Eden and those were probably the only features I've seen that really stood out for me. Contract Girl of the year is gonna be hard with Stormy, Jesse Jane, Hillary Scott and I'm sure I am forgetting someone. Those are a few I'm looking at anyway to see if they're in there. Also Paulina James for Best New Starlet!
Bree Olsen, esp since she signed with A&E. Perf of Year ... Watch out for Annette Schwarz, unless they palm her off with a Euro prize ... though I think you could easily get an Eva Angelina.
Bono- I agree with you as far as this year for "Female Performer". I mean I was pregnant until the end of July when I started shooting again. I think next year will be more of my year. Friends - Female Performer Of The Year: Brianna Love. There were people who were more depraved and did more circus stuff, but as far as I'm concerned, no one had the all around cachet and impact that Brianna did this year. She was in a lot of productions, across a lot of fetishes, was the feature attraction in all of them, and was magnificent in all of them. For the AVN awards the year ended on September 30th when Teagan was still a contract star. If Teagan was nominated it would be for best contract star and not performer of the year. She's the only contract star I watch so I guess I'd have to vote for her As for performer of the year, I think the winner will start with a B. Bree Olson, Brianna Love or Becky (Rebeca) Linares.
"Not The Brady's XXX" was the only feature I saw this year. I usually only watch gonzo. But this feature was heavily promoted and I think there's high expectations of it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was nominated.

in spite of probably sounding like a broken record i think Ryder Skye is definitely the best new talent...only problem is i don't think she has enough work to win anything at AVN awards THIS year. hopefully next year though. Love Bree Olson though.

If you ask me, Bree Olson should win for both Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year. However, I'm predicting the votes will go in another direction for FPOTY. I'd like to think Female Performer of the Year is a race between Brianna Love and Sasha Grey. Both have been the focus of some pretty high-profile releases, and both have definitely brought something unique to the field. I'd be quite happy with either choice.
Watching the vid right now. Some thoughts: - Justine Joli's Corrupted! Love her dearly. - Penny Flame, Kylie Ireland, and Hillary Scott for Supporting Actress! Yay! - Fashionistas Safado: Berlin got tons o' noms. No surprise there. - I can't stop laughing listening to this woman read each title, typos and all. - InTERActive must win for Interactive Title. - The nomination of Total Interactive Control of Alektra Blue makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Did the voters get some special, glitch-free version that I don't have? And the video craps out right about there. Guess I'll have to wait 'til morning for the list of noms.
I couldn't get through the entire list the video fucked up right when they were doing the couples sex scene noms so I don't know the big ones yet, hopefully that will be up on their site soon. Congrats though to Kylie and Hillary for their supporting noms. I think Upload has several well deserved noms that I heard, F3 as well. The best interactive I saw this year was the Jenna Haze one for Zero Tolerance by far and this one should win. Great to see Viv Thomas get a nod for All girl release he is so good at that type film but it will probably go to Belladonna and hey she's hot so if you're gonna lose she's a pretty good person to take the win, I'm just not as much into the toy play. Looking forward to finding out the rest of the noms when I can.

I think the AVN performer of the year award is a stand up fight between Annette Schwarz and Brianna Love No one else comes close to the quality and quantity of work those two have put in this year. Nothing says romance like anal sex.
So it looks like most (if not all) of our predictions for Female Performer of the Year nominations came true. Sasha Grey, Jenna Haze, Brianna Love, Savanna Samson, and Annette Schwarz all got nominated, among others. I can understand Eva Angelina being left off this list, since she just didn't have the quantity of 2007 releases that is a major factor in this category. At least she got the Best Actress (Video) nom, and I'm more than thrilled about that. But to leave Bree Olson entirely off the FPOTY nominee list? Completely fucking ridiculous. Oh well, I must not take these awards too seriously. Nearly every category has at least 1 glaring omission, so why should I be surprised about this?
how does AVN come up with the "ethnic" nominations.....? It's like a "rap" Grammy..... what,who,when, where are these decisions being made..... I didn't rent or buy 85% of the film nominated in the latin or black category.... people who come up with these awards..are driving away lot of Black fans(and money)..by consistently throwing garbage in these categories.......
It's a great title but how is "Shane Diesel In My Ass" nominated for Best SERIES, when there is just 1 volume? I would think that series kinda requires more than 1 volume. This title should have been nominated for Best Interracial Release for sure. Maybe this is a mistake?
