Looking at the list of nominations it would seem that there are about four movies that end up with a busload of nominations just because they were shot on film. Now, I personally think that the film look is very nice when done properly, but in porn that's never the case and, at any rate, with the arrival of hd video so little porn is shot on film these days. Isn't it time to get rid of the film categories and just have "best feature", "best anal" and so on? [Link] |

Or is there an informal ceremony beforehand akin to the technical Oscars. I mean the list of nominations was 56 pages long. It's must be ridiculous to sit through. I would want to spend the ceremony drunk and high as well just to save myself from the sheer boredom of it all. Perhaps if AVN raised it standards as to what deserves to be award-winning, there wouldn't be 15 noms for each category and don't give me the "well there is more hardcore produced then mainstream" argument. I've seen some of the titles nominated and well, it was utter crap. [Link] |
