That's 1 of my main points about how wrong this was. Cytheria rode a gimmick to this award(again I say Cytheria seems like a very sweet girl). Giving somebody an award simply off of a gimmick seems like a bad precedence to me.
After thinking about this a little while I think DP may be the (press)PR problem. I think it's because they don't embrace Teagan's Hardcore start enough, so that caused the voters to look at Teagan as contract girl Teagan. It's really sad because Best New Starlet is something DP could have used extremely well.

I don't think Cytherea rode anything other than a few cocks to this award! Yes her squirting is a major attraction to her scenes but for me it's not the only thing about her I like. AVN's Paul Fishbein on KSEX radio show said that Cytherea wasn't eligible to win the New Starlet of the Year award as reported by Gene Ross on Adult FYI.

" Fishbein then got into that great grey area in which some nominees have significantly more than a year under their belt. In which case, Cytherea could, arguably, have been nominated last year. "You were really in the industry before that," said Fishbein. "But we sort of missed the cutoff."
