Just tried Bargain Adult DVD after it was mentioned here at ADT.

Made my first order on March 24th -- for the Private Penthouse box set at $30.75 + $8.45 p&p -- after registering with them. They sent me a confirmation e-mail and a request for Identity Confirmation i.e. copy of front and back of credit card and confirmation of address. Once I sent them that, they shipped the order on March 30th (Saturday) and it arrived on the following Wednesday morning April 2nd, from America to Ireland.

The customs declaration listed the package as "data discs" and (probably) unfortunately listed the full value of the order. That didn't matter to us in Ireland (at present), but to the UK?

Hope this helps for others

At present, that's the situation. But we are not quite sure if that will stay the same. It's rumoured that the government here is selling off/privatising the parcel section of An Post, and it's probable that a private company won't let us get away with things like this in the not too distant future.

Here's hoping anyway...

Timotei:

Just to add a little bit further to what I mentioned above. After talking to a friend of mine who keeps up with things a bit more than I do, it seems that our government did farm out (part of) its package delivery system. however, it only affects packages over a certain weight and thus, probably most of the deliveries of DVDs and such that we get here come in under that limit. And I don't actually know what the limit is...

And my bud said that they will screw anybody whose package comes in above it for every penny they can get in VAT and Customs charges, etc. (or in our case Euros and cents, ).

I haven't currently fallen afoul of them yet, but here's hoping....

Fully boxed, as normal.

However, nad just make a point, because there would be less mail and mail processes (I'm guessing) here in Ireland, maybe that's why I'm getting (some of) my deliveries faster. For instance, I've had one or two deliveries from Canada (A&B Sound and DVD Soon) being shipped on a Friday and arrive on Tuesday morning, by normal airmail shipping i.e. using the cheapest method.

Also, I've had some shipments sent from Jersey or England e.g. Play 247, take more than a week to cross the Irish Sea.

So, who knows???.....

I've also ordered mainstream DVDs from Play247 and they can easily take a week from when they were shipped from Jersey to get to my house in Brighton UK - way slow!

Some deliveries from the US have been known to get from there to my house in about 4 days, even with regular airmail.

As you say: who knows!

Play are just slow at shipping. I've seen orders packed and dispatched in a couple of hours but take a week to go 30 miles inside the UK (Up the A34!).

That being said they are F*ing superb otherwise and I used them twice a month at the moment.

Chris.
