|  Posted - Jun 12 2005 : 7:21PMI picked up the dvd of Behind The Green Door - The Sequel and I thought it was a very good movie, the only problem seemed to be that the audio was dubbed in later, so it had the feel of a foreign movie kind of. I'm a big fan of the Mitchell Brothers films I've seen so far. I liked how Behind The Green Door - The Sequel had a wide variety of people, some were good looking some were not, some skinny, some large, you kind of got a cross section of society which I find interesting. The film clearly had a high budget, and I found the idea of the movie trying to promote and teach safe sex to be a good thing. It's too bad Missy Manners, the main character in this movie didn't go on to do anything else, she was an attractive woman, with unique facial features. What are some of your thoughts on this movie? I also really like this movie. I actualy saw this movie at a pretty young age (it was part of my dad's porn collection, along with the original) and I recently saw the DVD at a store and was considering purchasing it, but decided not to, considering it didn't seem like it would be worth $40 to purchase it. Did it have any special features or anything on it? That would have been cool. But anyway, I agree with you about the wide range of characters. The Mitchell Brothers are probably my favorite adult directors for they seemed to actually try to make honest to good movies, not the crap that's produced today. They also have a tendency for really good music in their films, quirky characters, and actual erotica. I also saw besides the original "Green Door", "Resurrection of Eve" and "The Grafenberg Spot". "Resurrection of Eve" probably has the best plot than any of them, but all of their films are very much above average. They really are the best directors to see full fledged adult films. [Link] |

Corey the dvd of Behind The Green Door The Sequel is not nearly worth $40, the audio and video quality are not that good, and it is made like the early VCX and Caballero dvd's with multiple chapters and you have a big pause while it switches to the next chapter. The movie though is excellent and I wish there were a better dvd release. I picked up my copy for $11, so you can find good prices at the online stores if you look for it.[Link] |

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but I skip through all new discs to make sure they play and I'd have to rate that one as the worst looking A/V wise of all the Mitchell Bros releases I've seen yet. I'm hoping The Grafenberg Spot looks better as I haven't picked that one up yet.[Link] |

Flash you will be very surprised by the audio/video quality of The Grafenberg Spot, it is by far the best looking porn film transfer to dvd of any movie from the classic era that I have seen. It looks much better than any of the other Mitchell Brothers dvd's.[Link] |

Nice I'll have to pick that one up then. Behind the Green Door, Resurrection of Eve and Autobiography of a Flea all looked fine but Behind the Green Door: The Sequel was so dissapointing as far as the A/V went.[Link] |

I have Resurrection of Eve and The Grafenberg Spot on DVD and they are great. I only have Behind the Green Door on VHS, though. I heard the DVD is no good. No timecode or anything. I'm in desperate search of Autobiography of a Flea.[Link] |

Autobiography of a Flea has been released by both Mitchell Bros and Arrow. The Mitchell Bros disc is fine, with no problems. I haven't seen the Arrow disc. The disc for Behind the Green Door doesn't have a time code, but is still worth picking up.My review of Autobiography of a Flea (Mitchell Bros) and my review of Behind the Green Door. Yeah, I like how all the Mitchell Brothers DVD's have the original trailers. Haven't seen any other classics with the original theatrical trailers. And also the clips from the early Mitchell films and the whole movie theatre background. Seriously, some of the coolest stuff I've seen on a DVD for an adult film.[Link] |

It appears that Mitchell Brothers have remastered Behind the Green Door: The Sequel however no stores appear to be selling it yet. The cover is very different from the current one and looks more like the first film's cover.[Link] |

I actually went to the Mitchell Bros. theatre and saw this when it came out 20 years ago. It was a big deal back then. Missy Manners made a few appearances around local Bay Area radio stations to promote it.
I don't remember too much, I seem to recall being disappointed Missy didn't do more in the film. Also, true to the bothers' style, there were a few people in the film that forced me to cover my eyes.[Link] |

That's the new one. The old cover looked just like the VHS with the DVD Video logo slapped in the corner. In fact the spine still says "VHS Format" on it.[Link] |

I have an Arrow copy of Autobiography Of A Flea and it's no great shakes, but I'm not sure what to compare it with. I've seen the movie in multiple formats (including a theatrical print at the late great Kiva Art Theatre in Scottsdale AZ) and its always had a muted, murky look that I always thought matched the tone of the movie perfectly.[Link] |

I just wanted to report that I picked up the reissue of Behind the Green Door: The Sequel and the video on it is absolutely beautiful. For some reason it is on a DVD-R though instead of a pressed disc.[Link] |
