In order to make our movies better for you we would appreciate feedback on the following:
Are any of you into the behind the scenes footage provided in many releases? And if so, what do you like or dislike about it and what would you like to see in the BTS?
Also, how many of you would like to see the movies shot in wide screen format? I am not referring to High Def (HD). Just the wide-screen format.
What are your opinions on the Jerk to pop? My own personal opion and thought is, I dont do it in real life and I dont think other people usually do. I would rather see the girl suck the guy off or jerk him herself, or a rockin fuck to pop. Your thoughts please.
Any other suggestions or comments will help us to shoot what you want, the way you want it. We produce movies for several other companies under their names as well as our own lines so your suggestions will have a wide reach.
I like the behind-the-scenes footage where the girls are interviewed/get to show off some of their true personalities, especially in interviews, etc. A notable example would be some of the BHS stuff from the Shane's World series.
However, the production values have to be close to those of the feature. It's really annoying having BHS footage with really bad audio, for example. If you're going to do BHS, at least make an effort to do it right.
Wide-screen format isn't really important to me for porn, mostly because I don't watch many features.
Basically, the most important thing is really hot women having really great sex.
For technical aspects/production values, my priorities are on good lighting, good audio, and good editing. If the main attraction doesn't uphold these technical values, I doubt if any other gimmicks (like BHS, photo galleries, widescreen, audio commentary, fancy DVD menus, etc.) will change my opinion much about the disc.
I like behind the scenes and try to watch each one. Areas I like to see depend on the girl being shot. If it's a girl like Teagan I would want a lot of ass footage be it up close, floor shot, her spread her ass, those type of shots. If she's busty like Avy Scott then I'd want a lot of tit play including some nipple licking from the girl. What I'd really like to see is if it's a two girl scene then let the girls do some hot french kissing and breast sucking while the camera roams around them. So those are a few areas I'd like to see, depending on the girl and what you and she perceive as her best asset or assets I'd want to see lots of footage covering that.
I love behind the scenes footage. Talking with the cast is great. Some footage of the director talking about the project etc. People screwing around on the set (not as in sex, but just passing the time until they are up). That kind of thing.
As for widescreen, I enjoy adult films that are shot in 1.78:1 or 1.85:1. Any wider and the action will start to get too small. If you do shoot for widescreen, remember to encode the discs with anamorphic video so that viewers with widescreen sets can have it fit the screen. Also make sure that you have camera people that can shoot for widescreen. Know how to frame properly, etc.

I like behind the scenes and usually it is the first thing I watch on a new disk.
I like to see the performers preparing for the shoot, and the interaction between them as they meet on the set.
Humorous moments and out-takes are good too.
Something I have not seen yet and would really enjoy is a commentary track. Perhaps even a choice of commentary tracks from directors and performers, as is often provided on mainstream DVDs.
Wide screen is not important to me at all for a porn movie.
I don't mind BTS, but my likes differ with what Bono (for example) lists - thats more in the "bonus footage" vein to me and is fine but not what I'd call BTS. I agree with cv, flash and licker on the content I like to see in the BTS, but if you're going to bother try to have decent audio for the chatting and whatnot.
I agree with your statement on the jerk-to-pop, though the guys doing it doesn't really bother me. It's hotter when the girl does it, but I understand that the guys have more control over their orgasm as well as typically better aim
Until WS TVs are more common then 4:3 sets, I see little point in WS porn. Despite what some producers aspire to, it's not "cinema", and the point of WS in mainstream features is to preserve the original aspect ratio from the theatrical release.
Since porn is not shown in the theatres, you might as well use all of the screen's real estate. I see WS porn produced at this time (and the last few years) to be a bit pretentious to be honest as there's little point in it.
I love good BTS footage, when the cast (and crew) get along well and like to goof around and play up to the BTS camera.
I've seen some crappy BTS footage too though, when US crews go abroad to shoot scenes featuring girls with poor English skills.
The girl or girls sit in one corner during a break, obviously bored or otherwise not having a particularly good time, waiting for the shoot to finally finish so they can get paid and get the hell out of there. The guys (cast and crew) standing in the far corner, jerking off and joking around like a bunch of high school kids, even though most of them are well into their 30's or 40's.
Really breaks the illusion. Mind you, the main movie was pretty bad in it's own right.
But when everyone are having a good time, the main movie gets a whole lot better and the BTS footage can really f*cking rock.

Non-HD widescreen porn makes no difference to me either way. But if you do go for it, make absolutely sure it's anamorphic. Otherwise the loss of vertical resolution would count as a negative for me.
I also love BTS. I like interviews, extra scenes or funny things that happened during shooting! BTS is a must for me to rate a dvd high and in my shopping research.

While I always make it a point to glance at whats back there. I never go through the photo galleries, and often wonder if the space cant be used more effectively.
One thing I've wanted to see, is extended close-up footage, (macrostyle) of the girls cum filled/soaked/open mouths. their tongues maybe playing with it, or even if their empty, but just open. Like the male performers always get to peer down, when busily jerkin themselves to pop, at our expense, while WE are left to only watch, from 3rd person no less, Ive always wondered what that POV looked like.
While on the subject of jerk to pop, yes. I too would be perfectly happy, If I never again had to watch another guy jerk to pop, and even worse MISS another mouth. But if thats a bit of a reach, at least a common sense approach, that says if the first pop reveals the girls a cum dodger, not to waste another load the same exact way. Anything else would be better, than watching hopelessly in vain, more smooth shifting dodgers trying to play it off to the camera, how it must of been bad aim or timing why all that cum just went flying by.
Yes BTS is great I like a short interview and then watching them get out off their street clothes . If they come to the shoot dressed very conservative thats even better Pop shots I dont care about.. I FF through all that.
Yes -- I like BTS, especially interviews that ask about the actresses sexual likes and dislikes and sexual history. The more honest and serious, the better. Pierre Woodman's from the Private Casting X series would be a good example except for all the language problems, but questions about the total number of their past sex partners, what age they started at, whether they like or dislike specific sex acts are all very interesting.
Also post pop shot footage of actresses cleaning themselves up, etc. is fun to watch.
Yes to *anamorphic* widescreen -- by all means, it looks much better.
For pop shots, have the woman do the jerking, sucking whatever -- the guy should not be touching himself.
in Weapons of Ass Destruction 3 you get to see Jules Jordan leading some lovely young thing bathroom after his uncontrolled pop shot lands on her left eyelid. they both laugh and giggle as she tries to wash it out of her eyes before it soaks in. if you've seen any of his pops you'd know it was a lot.
better yet the BTS of Buttman's Anal Show 4 where Steve Holmes is sitting around drinking from a bottle of champagne with Sandra Romain and Magda. the scene is over and it's just a relaxing time afterwards.
hell, I'd be impressed to see the entire cast sit down after they've finished with shooting for a day, and played cards or changed clothes to go out to dinner. call me stupid, but seeing the more realistic side of it all would be a change of pace on occasion as well.
