I do, but not in the way you present your case.
Both mainstream acting and porn acting more or less share the same goal -- make me believe whatever it is they want me to believe -- but do so by different means.
Time for an old Walter Burns quotable (?) reflection on porn:
‘The difference between porn acting and mainstream acting. “Good” mainstream acting is about pretending to be somebody else and succeeding to do so. “Good” porn acting is about pretending to be yourself and failing to do so.’
"Fluffing a line about fixing a fu8king lawn mower" is failing to pretend to be somebody else. That is both 'bad' mainstream and 'bad' porn acting. It shatters both the' fantasy' and the 'reality' of porn.

Actually, good acting is a major bonus when it comes to features. One might actually watch the in-between non-sex scenes if they're acted well. That can enhance the sex scenes. I'm not one of them, but some women like to have a character to relate to, and good acting can make a big improvement. I always appreciate when a performer turns in a good acting job in a feature. It's not easy to do, and I admire him/her for it.
But a good porn actress in general is someone, who knows if she can't act and knows that being just herself is ok. (it's only bad if she really hates the job). If she is not a screamer than leave it.
Sometimes a soft moan with closed eyes is miles better than an eardrum destroying primal scream.

It depends on the definition of "acting" and on the type of the scene.
- When a porn star plays a certain character I surely prefer them to do it well. In some cases an over the top performance can even ruin a scene because it doesn't fit the acting. For example as soon as a girl with pigtails and in cheerleader uniform starts deepthroating like Bobbi Bliss, the whole innocent teeny bopper fantasy is fucked up. Of course such a scene can still be hot, there's just no sense in dressing the girl up like that in the first place.
- When it comes to sexual aspects, especially the female orgasm, I prefer there to be no acting necessary at all, but in case it is fake anyway, I prefer good acting so I won't notice it's not genuine.
But maybe I should just forget what I said and stick to this statement:

Even in a vignette title I want the acting to be decent. What's the point in creating say a grudge-fuck scene between a divorcing couple whose passion gets the better of them, if they don't act like said couple throughout? Or an adultery scene - if someone can convey a touch of guilt mixed in with the intense arousal, bring it on I say! It doesn't have to scoop any statuettes on Oscar night, but for God's sake lets get away from the 'I'm here to check out your pipes' level of story-porn! I'm ready to suspend my imagination - I'd prefer not have 3rd-rate acting (or writing for that matter) burst my bubble!

What's important to me is that a porn actress performs a sex scene convincingly ...that she looks interested and into what ( or who) she is doing. If she has to act , then acting is definately important , in that sense.
Since I have no interest in features , the acting between sex scenes , to tie a story together , does nothing for me. I have no interest because I don't watch porn for the story , at all. Porn awards mean nothing to me.

The better the fuck, the better the porn. Save the acting for movies. Instead spending money on good actresses who will do porn, save it for the actresses who are willing to do more more the buck.
The best way to handle this is, if you want to see acting in porn, then watch features. If you don't care for acting in porn, then watch gonzo movies. For me, as long as the sex scenes are great, I'd watch either.
hey i'm all for gonzo, but if i'm watching a feature film i expect SOME level of acting, i mean sometimes i want a plot, and the better the acting the better mood i'm in, so it's a win win...
I only watch gonzo movies, no features so acting is not really important to me. The only acting I like are the built ups in gonzo like Rodney Moore does, that's pretty cool.
In terms of "traditional" acting skills(Interpreting a script),I don't really care if a girl or a guy can act in a porn film,especially in gonzo movies.My concern is acting in terms of the sex acts themselves.Some of these girls I'm sure don't do a lot of gangbangs,bukakke,DP's or such acts in their free time.When they do these types of acts in a movie I want them to make me believe that they are completely enjoying what they are doing,as opposed to just picking up a check. I can't imagine stuff like swallowing a dozen loads or doing ATM's is completely enjoyable for everyone involved.It's hard work for the actors as well as the director and production team.Everyone's job is to make it appear as natural and fun as can be. On the other hand,it's also fun to have the "I've never done this before" or "It's my first time" type of scenario,which I would imagine is even tougher to pull off.
