What do you consider the best Antonio Adamo movie?

I'm not a big Adamo fan, but I do own Italian Flair, and I consider it the best one of his that I've seen.

My wife and I both enjoyed Italian Flair. I bought it on a Goldmember recommendation and glad I did. Im going to to buy either Sex Shot or Virtualia Episode 1 next.

Sex Shot & Italian Flair are both great. So are Fashion and The Last Muse. But, in my opinion, the best purchases you can make are for the 6 DVD Penthouse Packs. Between the two of them there are 12 great movies and each one is only $30! This has to be the deal of the year.

I think I saw a Virtualia 6 dvd pack in the coming soon section few weeks ago on Private Official web site. But they seemed to have taken it offline since the last time I saw it. Penthouse Pack 1 & 2 plus Virtualia pack would be a great buy for any Adamo fans! Worth every pennies!

Anita Rinaldi's Planet Sexxx is still his best work, in my opinion.

I own the Private Penthouse 6-pack and the Private Gladiator Special Edition, and cannot pick a favorite. I should say, though, I felt the Adamo aesthetic was a better match for the Private Penthouse material than for the Gladiator.

Italian Flair is Adamo's best movie to date in my humble opinion.

P.S. I would like to echo aybesea's advice
Private Penthouse Box Sets 1 & 2 are probably the best deal in porn right now! The fact that one can buy 12 DVDs jam packed with high quality porn featuring some of the best Euro starletts can be found for only $60 blows me away.

vincevega - It is very rewarding to know that I was able to help steer you in Adamo's direction.

OK, guys, you better be right!

I just picked up Italian Flair and I must have been in a Euro mood because I also got one of Christoph's Beautiful Girls videos. Don't ask me when I'll have time to watch them (I have 5 other recent purchases in the queue), but I'll let you know whether I, too, can sing the praises of Italian Flair.

Italian Flair is awsome. I bought the first box set, and want to get the second one. I will be moving at the end of the week and will have someone picking up my mail for two months, so it isn't the right time to be ordering any new porn at the current time. And I so want to see the Virtuella series.

For a non-penthouse video, I also like Fever.

Hallo,

I noticed "Italian Flair" has been mentioned a lot.

May I just enquire did your DVD play O.K. right throughout. When I had the movie (a PAL disc), towards the end of the movie, the disc just seized up so to say.

I discarded it but will keep an eye out for another one.

Antonio Adamo: His "Call Girl" made Silvia Saint world famous and perhaps was the peak of her career, although she was also very good in both "Danegerous Things" Parts 1 & 2.

I thought that "Call Girl" was excellent, - moody music, lovely photography and closeups of gorgeous Silvia, perhaps one of the most photogenic stars ever (just look at the DVD cover for "White Girls With Black Guys")

Regards,
Met.

PS. In case there are any Silvia fans looking in, I have posted a Silvia Saint Movie List of 234 titles in the "Star Crossed" Forum a few hours ago.

Thank you for your reply, Aybesea.

Perhaps your "Italian Flair" disc is in NTSC ?

Maybe there was a fault in some of the Pal ones, or at least my one! I shall get another copy or maybe get the 6-pack box (mainly for the box itself! - with lovely Silvia standing on the right of the picture) and try it again.

That 6-Pack DVD box incidentally is selling for a fortune over here (about £80- £90!), much dearer than in the USA I believe.

Regards and thanks, M.

I've had no problems with my copy of "Italian Flair", which is in NTSC format.

It's been through the player several times too.

Met,

Yep... my disc was NTSC. As far as the box goes, it is a great bargain here in the States. Maybe one of the US online stores would ship it to you cheaper than you can buy it for locally.

Thank you DenverDon and Aybesea for your replies.

I was surprised when the Pal Dvd just "cut out" near the end and I gave it away later. We'll see how another one plays. On my TV (large Panasonic), NTSC movies cause a slight patterning at the sides when the DVD player outputs pure NTSC into the TV.

Hence, I prefer Pal versions. "Private" Dvds are now only on sale in Pal over here. The only NTSC ones on sale here are where the movie was only made in that colour system (like "Call Girl" and "Hawaiian Ecstasy" for instance).

There is also a slight speed difference when the same movie in the USA or UK is played I think. I can't quite remember what it's all about but we are 625 Lines @ 50Hz whereas you are 525 Lines (I think) @ 60Hz. I believe an American actor said his voice sounded a bit high pitched one way or the other. We need a technician to explain this !

This might be more apparent in musical films.

Thanks again for the contact.

If I recall correctly, it is the number of frames per second that is one of the difference between the two formats, and that would make a difference in the speed (small, but there).

Either it has been discussed in Tech Talk, or you could post the question there.

Edited to add:
Here is the link and part way down the thread Bill talks about the refresh rates (and conversion rate to frames per sedond) between the two formats.

Thank you very much for your further message DenverDon plus the link to the earlier technical posting by Bill.

I can't say that I entirely understand all this. I suppose the best way is to get two of the same movies in the different colour formats and play them both and see what happens and also when you convert NTSC to PAL (as I have a separate good quality converter with added controls which I don't use in line but I could do a test with it just as an experiment).

Thanks for the information.

Regards,M.

PS. One day I must get someone to show me how to do that trick with "Click Here" (please don't try to explain it to me on here - I am totally hopeless with computers and photos, etc. - one day someone will come to my home who knows how to do it perhaps)

There is a small tutorial that might be of assistance.

If that is not enough, then hopefully your friend can help.

Dear Aybesea & DenverDon,

Further to my posting earlier in the month, I got another Private-Penthouse "Italian Flair" DVD (PAL) the other day.

It did the same thing - cut out again at about 1 hour-47 mins.

I think it's stopping short by about 1 minute!

It looks like a batch of PAL pressings were faulty and I got two of them. Maybe they're all like this. Perhaps I should e-mail Private info.

The time check shows the right time I suspect (about 1-48) but the disc just won't play that last closing minute.

PS. I hear it's been raining for 6 weeks in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, USA !

MOD: This thread started out as people's feelings on Adamo films and has become a thread on faulty Adamo discs. Please discuss the disc problems in the Tech Talk forum so we can keep this thread on topic. Thanks.
