I'm sure this has been discussed before but since I'm fairly new....

What director or company do you think puts out the best previews/trailers?

In many cases seeing a trailer other movies can be a big influence on me buying a DVD if I like what I see. But I see so many companies not doing such a good job on selling their product. Sometimes the trailers are way too short. Sometimes they show stars without giving their names. Some only show a couple of girls from the movie and not all. One company/director had so much overdone flashy graphics that you couldn't tell who was in the movie or what was going on.

Who does good trailers and who does bad ones? What do you like or not like to see in a trailer?

This is easy. :)

Sineplex and Sinsational *used* to have incredible trailers and scene photos. They are all gone now, since both web sites are essentially empty.

Among the remaining, I don't think I'll get any argument on this: Jules Jordan. Period. Every trailer is good and long and shows what is actually in the movie in an interesting and exciting way.

Going to the bottom of the list are those that are sensitive to 2257 issues. I'm not in the business, so I can't pass judgement on this. I *can* opinionate as a customer though. Trailers from Digital Playground and others that have gone to "R rated" trailers are nearly useless. Zero Tolerance and other companies that don't even bother with trailers are worse.

Oh, final note of praise for Evil Angel and Elegant Angel. Both do top notch trailers that encourage me, as a consumer, to BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. I still think JJ is a notch higher, but not a big jump.

Sineplex and Sinsational are just about to launch their new websites and they will have some great trailers. And Zero Tolerance do produce trailers but they don't show any sex in them. They do present the girls and show us how they are dressed in the movie though.

I never watch trailers, they contain too many spoilers like when I see trailers and I buy the movie I get the feeling I've already seen everything. I do watch some preview pics.

I always prefer to lay my hands on only those DVD's who's trailers give me an inkling of an erection that promises to break into a hard-on outrage subsequently.

All along I've treated trailers like appetizers leading to the main course. If the trailer isn't yummy quite rarely wud the sweet dish be mouth watering.

For me Seeing is Believing. If I like what I see I've no reason to complain if I take the dish home..But If I can help it, I'd not buy a DVD just on the basis of hearsay or the fancy cover.

But then I guess the Bottom line is:"To Each Their Own" A trailer is like a menu card of a window showcase in the mall.If it succeeds in catching my attention only then do I crave for more of it. That's Me!!!

Any trailers from Jules(when available lol), Evil Angel and Elegant Angel are awesome. They show you a couple of minutes of footage and just enough to get you going. Not reavealing too much, but just enough. Awesome advertising, trailers and PR from them.

Anything from Evil Angel. I honestly don't take the other companies all that serious. Evil Angel is so high above the competition it's kinda of pathetic watching other companies struggle to make original content.

Sineplex has added the first trailers to their new websites to view them online,
goto "banners" and click on "hide content area" to watch them !
