I don't think I even know 10 porn directors. I don't think I have ever checked which person directed a porn movie ... I look up performers, but not directors. The idea of looking up directors never occurred to me
The only directors I know are the ones who also perform - Adriano, Jules, Tim Von Swine, Stagliano etc. I have no idea about which ones would be my favorite
in my opinion Mason used to be a great director from 2014-2016 with her great camera angles, great caste of performers and great scene scripts but after that period i just see Xempire go downhill, Mason never features talent on a frequent basis look at Jules Jordan for example look how many times he has featured Angela White and Abigail Mac he build them up as mega stars same with Porno Dan look how many times he brought Jennifer White and Britney Amber to Immoral, due to the lack of female talent she gives opportunities to and lack of consistency i can't rate her as an all time great director.
Greg Lansky is another all time great who featured only the best to his core fan base and to the wider audience his work as a director is unparamount.

^^That's an extreme case of cherry picking. Angela White and Abagail Mac are the performers that you want to see and they may not have many scenes but there are many performers that have been featured by Mason in a variety of her sites. I could easily flip your argument on Jules Jordan, he's never shot a single scene of many of my favorite performers, only released the scenes that Manuel Ferrara shot. That's another plus for Mason, she added another site to XEmpire, AllBlackX that features black women in every update while other sites can go a whole year without featuring a single black woman.
I'm not a hater of Mason/Xempire but I'm saying she has lost her touch since 2017 she was one of my faves at some point but she refuses to bring female talent back for more for example Kagney Linn Karter was the hottest thing in 2014-2016 but she only booked her once with Prince Yahshua and Rico Strong respectively she should have had a round 2 with either of them that goes for most of the talent that appeared for Mason its a one and done game same goes for female talent like Jada Stavens and Adriana Chechik amongst all others.
2nd point being she never brought legendary talents to Xempire , names such as the legendary Lisa Ann and Dani Daniels whilst they were active amongst many other legendary stars like how could Mason not capitalise on this trend and bring them in for a couple of scenes and still refuses to bring active legends like Joslyn James, Angela White, Francesca Le, Alura Jenson, Abigail Mac and other Industry greats.
3rd point being Jules Jordan may have his faults but atleast he is consistent most female talent under his dictionary have appeared for JJV minimum 5-15 times if you look at Abella Danger or Valentina Nappi respective profiles they have appeared a numerous amount of scenes for JJV which can be said for nearly all the female talent to have worked with Jules so he has provided female talent with a platform to become legends with plenty of opportunities at hand.
4th point i do agree stuff does need to change for black female performers and they should be given a more prominent platform to ascend to the top like their white/latina female performer counterparts but the same thing can be applied for asian/latino male performers they also haven't had a chance to excel and showcase like their white/black male performer counterparts, which is not solely a Jules problem but a mainstream porn problem in general, AllBlackX will soon encounter the same problem as its sister sites.

Rocco Siffredi- the single most important job of a porn director is to get the female talent to give a good performance. Rocco had the advantage of having a duel role in his prime serving as performer as well. He clearly had money to spend which always helps the cause.
Cecil Howard- I am old enough for the golden age of porn. Tossed Howard in here because his films looked the best. The content wasn't all that different, but you sometimes felt like you were watching a mainstream movie.
Bruce Seven- I'm a fan of g/g content & Seven was the main man when it came to such material. His best work came before the Buttslammer series where I thought he started to get lazy.
Jake Malone- If I could direct porn movies, it would look like Malone's offerings. His lesbian & b/g oral movies are among the best ever made.
Greg Lansky- He's far from perfect, but like Howard, his scenes look good. Lanksy's g/g run with RK featuring Malena Morgan is some of the top scenes of the last 10 years.
Jay Sin- eliciting quality performances & an in your face camera style made his stuff unique & very popular.
Paul Norman- There was a grittiness to Norman's style that I always liked. He directed the 2 most appealing movies of Vivid's Where the Boys Aren't series.
So I don't know who Jonas Middleton is, but he directed Through the Looking Glass. I have always thought that was the premier artsy porn movie ever made, so I'll give him an honorable mention.
Henri Pachard- simply because he made the Taboo American Style Series.
David Frazer/Svetlana- Bad Girls(1981) & the similar offerings that followed were the best looking films of the early 80s.
James Avalon is a good director who hasn't been mentioned. Wish he would put out more content. Mason dropped on my list because she uses a couch, the same white couch, and the same set, way too much. I prefer bed scenes. She's not the only one guilty of that, though.
Rocco Siffredi is legend of the game with a vast amount of success under his belt, undoubtly one of the greatest directors in porn.
Greg Lansky is a pioneer in the industry the work he done for Blacked is truly remarkable, i have thoroughly enjoyed his scenes, its a shame he decided to hang up his boots.
Jay Sin is another great mind for a director in the industry, top level scenes that i still enjoy to watch today.
As for present directors i think Adira Allure can become a top level director but she just started, so we will have to see on what she can bring to the industry.
Andrew Black - A true fucking artist Eon McKai - A young, digital version of Andrew Blake Joanna Angel - If there's anybody who really pulls off the "Hey my friends are here and they're gonna fuck - you wanna watch?" concept it's her. Mason - Pretty much the exact opposite of a creepy guy with a camera. Greg Lansky - I like that he has his own style and he wasn't afraid to break all the stupid "rules" of interracial Jules Jordan - 'nuff said Joone - Directed one of the greatest porn movies of all time [The guy that founded Amateur Allure....Thomas something?] [Whoever directs Backroom Facials for BangBros] Ugly George - The true inventor of Gonzo (fight me)
I think Pay Myne Elegant Angel director is severely underrated.

Numero uno- JakeSteed
Say what you will but I couldn't keep his shit on the inner city shelves I managed AND EVERYONE loved to complain about him...He was the guy POC just loved to hate...Funny thing is everyone seemed to hate his music even more and that CD goes for $200 today making it perhaps the most expensive rap/hiphop CD ever...
ChicoWang an egregious personality who may have murdered his Starlet wife but as a Director I feel he was ahead of his time and would have liked to see how he developed as a filmmaker...There was a method to his madness when it came to porn.
JakeMalone...It pains me to know how his trip ended how unhappy he was as he seemed the ideal pervert with no complaints (professionally) from anyone I ever heard about.
JoihnLeslie...Seems like he went out on a high note I'm just bummed I never got to meet him.
JamieGillis I always hoped for a cumback something to reestablish himself as the ArchGoat...On the _Prowl and much later DOG "Devious Old Gillis" I felt were building up to something
BrandonIron...Made some of the best stuff and never got the ownership props money position acclaim he deserved for his work as a director and how he died makes Jake's death seem nice..
Oh and for CASTINGS the cat behind BrokeAmateurs not to be confused with BrokeModel or BrandNewAmateurs had a damn near perfect formula as a performer to audition and try out fresh talent..
Ray Gun or Pistol of CumOnHerFace got unnecessarily broke by our government I felt it was overkill...
There are MANY more directors who I'd enjoy here and there and sometimes quite a bit but do not necessarily miss them or feel sad they are gone names like SteveSweet JuanCuba JoePusher KhanTusion & his buddy FrankWank and who can ever forget BigLou the worst of the worst directing the first 20 to 50 BackroomFacials for BangBros I think-
