| HeyNow Oblivious Gold Star Hey! 5965 Posts 1/03 | I can only speak for BushDVD: No complaints there, fast shipping (same day as they get the returned movies) and great customer service - and reports of XRent have been the same in both of these regards. Both of these are in Southern CA - 1 or 2 day shipping is the norm if you are too. Probably 3 days if you are in Oregon or WA. We really had a big thread - I'm sure others will post eventually - there are others like WantedList and SugarDVD. |

| fatalbert Member Diagonally parked in a parallel universe 576 Posts 5/03 | Xrent's selection and service are okay, but I'm interested in a lot of Wantedlist's more obscure titles. Any comments on WantedList's service and turnaround time? BTW, I had a horrible experience last fall with Adult DVD Empire, a month's subscription in which hardly anything went right. Must have been a temporary glitch, but I had to bail. On the other hand, I definitely like their screenshots. |
| steed Member 426 Posts 11/05 | 1. They use media mail which is a very low priority 2. They only ship Mon-Fri Because of the media mail there were times that it took up to 7 or 8 days to get to me in the midwest from California. I use Bush now and I usually get their shipments in 3 days. I have the 4 DVD plan and probably get a minimum of 20 DVD's per month. |

| coolasafanman WantedList.com 29 Posts 1/05 | - Yes, we have thousands of screenshots and are adding more. Some things we offer which might not be available on every other DVD rental site: I can't comment on any competitor's site, but would be happy to answer any questions about WantedList.com or our gay site, MaleBoxDVD.com. |
| fatalbert Member Diagonally parked in a parallel universe 576 Posts 5/03 | Your company offers a lot of the more obscure items like those from Global Media (redistributing great old Heather Hunter flicks on DVD), e.g., that can't be found for rent elsewhere. I am inclined to give you a chance, but am keeping Steed's warning in mind. I promise to post comments here (positive ones, I hope). |
| BigBobxxx Senior Member 2681 Posts 5/04 | I'm in Florida. I've always been a little leary of the trusting the shipper (typically the Post Office) and trusting that returns actually get properly credited. I'm thinking that spending 90-cents on a "proof-of-mailing" from the Post Office might be worth it when sending returns. After all, once I mail the items using the rental company's designated system, it should no longer be my problem. Any experiences here? |

| Love The Ladies New Member 4 Posts 5/06 | I'm a new forum member and I'm in the process of trying out the online rental sites. I've just finished one free trial and here's the results. I signed up for www.boomer-x.com on 5/5/2006 for a 10 day free trial. I finished the sign up and populated my wish list by 10am. I got a email on 5/8/2006 with a time stamp of 7:06pm saying they shipped my movies. The movies arrived on 5/12/2006. They were in working order. I brought the DVDs to the post office early on 5/13/2006. I cancelled my membership on 5/14/2006. They haven't sent me a email to acknowledge my returns yet, I hope to get a email soon. Overall this site seems a bit slow to me, but at least they appear legit. |
| steed Member 426 Posts 11/05 | I have their (4) DVD plan and since I joined I'm getting no less than (20) titles per month. |

Bush has only raised their rates once in 40 months, and that was after the last postal rate increase. They've been responsive to the occasional lost or damaged disc, and have been receptive to new title requests. About the only thing I have noticed is that some titles are on Short or Long Wait for an eternity, but my queue has always been pretty lengthy. Looking at my history, I've rented 800 titles from them, at an average cost of $1.11 per disc. |
| Love The Ladies New Member 4 Posts 5/06 | I started my free 3 disc x 10 day trial on 5/16/06. Sugardvd shipped me 3 movies on 5/16. I received 3 movies on 5/18. I returned 3 movies on 5/18. Sugardvd acknowledged receipt of 3 movies on 5/20. Sugardvd shipped 3 movies on 5/20. I received 2 movies on 5/22. I returned 2 movies on 5/22. Sugardvd acknowledged receipt of 2 movies on 5/24. I received 1 movies on 5/24. Sugardvd shipped me 2 movies on 5/24. I received 2 movies on 5/26. I cancelled my membership on 5/26/06. I returned 2 movies on 5/27. I returned 1 movies on 5/30. Sugardvd acknowledged receipt of 3 movies on 6/1. End of trial. Total Movies = 8. This trial went pretty smoothly and I have no major complaints.

| singlecoverage New Member 3 Posts 6/06 | I too am a relatively satisfied user of bushdvd. In the past I have also used X-Rent. The main reason I don't primarily use X-Rent is the per-title cost is higher if you don't have a membership. However if you just want a few specific titles and don't want to commit for a month, X-Rent is a great choice. Overall I am satisfied with BushDVD but lately they do seem to be throttling my rentals. When I first started with the service they would typically receive my movies in 1.5 business days and I would have a pretty quick turnaround. However after about 6 months it seems as if BushDVD is throttling the rentals. Even though I am in SoCal it seems to take BushDVD about 2-3 business days to "receive" my rentals, and another 1-2 days to ship them. Here is a recent example. This Saturday morning I dropped off two packages at the post office. One was for Blockbuster online and the other was for BushDVD. On Monday Blockbuster had already received my rental and had shipped the next one. I received that next rental today (Tuesday). However today (the same Tuesday), BushDVD has yet to acknowledge my return rental. Best case scenario it will be "received" tomorrow (Wednesday) and I will get the next rental Thursday or Friday. Now this is a drastic difference for two rental companies that are based in California. To recap: Blockbuster: Saturday (mail) BushDVD: Saturday (mail) Thursday or Friday (new rental) This is the only issue I have with BushDVD. Other than that their service is great. They are relatively quick with responding to emails (24-48 hours) and in the case of missing DVDs they will mail out your next rentals right away. In over a year of DVD rentals with Bush I have probably had about 4 missing packages and Bush was quick with handling all of the cases (all of them do eventually turn up, at least in my experience). The website is also pretty good with some decent search features. Overall I give BushDVD a solid B, even though they throttle a bit I still get movies faster than I would if I went through an east coast company. |

| JUSTWRONG69 Member 100 Posts 10/08 | He told me I should stay with them, and he wants to cancel me. He more than insisted this was his decision and he would do this because I had a complaint and I am lying or taking advantage. I have never experienced this kind of customer service in my life. What is ironic and sad is, he could tell me when my returns would be processed and when I would recieve mailings(I would be curious myself to see when they were recieved by the post office in San Diego). I returned 6 movies last weekend. And they still have not been accredited to my account. Rentals that had been at the post office on Saturday are still not shown on my account as of today (Friday). This representative understood I was driving and trying to express dissatisfaction with rentals that take a week to process, but he insisted I have 16 movies and wanted to tell me the dates I mailed. I had to tell him at some point that I would look at my calendar dates when I got home, but I had been clear on when videos were "dropped in the mail". He said I mailed on certain dates, and still insisted I was lying. The representative with your company told me I should listen to him speak as he talked over me. He never listened or tried help explain anything. I very much felt the money I am spending with Bush DVD is not wanted or appreciated. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a company I am spending money with. This manager called me a lier, told me I was taking advantage of the service, and insisted on making the decision to cancel my membership over a complaint that returns have taken a week to be processed. This to me was an amazing experience. I am still surprised by this, and I have never had a company accuse me and denigrate me as a lier and bad customer. There is a lot to say. This is real! Expect 7 days for returns and terrible service. I also experienced this myself. Edited by - JUSTWRONG69 on 10/18/2008 1:16:19 AM Edited by - JUSTWRONG69 on 10/18/2008 1:18:43 AM |

| Drew Black broken crankshaft 8011 Posts 9/99 | Bush DVD uses a tracking feature of the US Postal system that most of the other rental companies don't use. It's similar in concept to the system used by UPS. This tracking system lets them know when you put an item in the mail for return. They can track every item as it works its way through the mail system. So if you have 16 DVDs out on an 8 DVD rental plan it would seem logical that you're doing something to game the system. I'd recommend reading the description of the rapid return system:What is implied in this description is you must drop the items in the mail before they will ship out new ones. They know if your items are in the mail back to them. You can't lie about this. If the items are indeed in the mail as returns then (and only then) will they ship out replacements from your queue. I also suspect that if you've been with them for a while they keep track of your honesty factor. If you have a habit of abusing the RapidReturn feature (i.e. you tell them you returned an item but didn't actually drop it in the mail) they most likely keep track of it. I know I would if I were running that kind of business. I'd also call you a liar and drop your account and ding your credit card for the full value of any movies not returned to me. |
| JUSTWRONG69 Member 100 Posts 10/08 | "Guaranteed 2-day return delivery. When you drop your movies in the mail you can notify us by clicking the RapidReturn button in the queue. We will ship the next available movies in two days. If we receive your returns before two days we will ship your next movies the day we receive your returns. We must receive the movies in the RapidReturn section before the next ones become available for RapidReturn". ____________________________________________________________________________________ As a lier, I intended this to mean I could notify the company, "When you drop your movies in the mail" (Drew Black, 2008) I did miss, "must receive the movies in the RapidReturn section before the next ones become available for RapidReturn".(Drew Black, 2008) I wondered why it was taking so long to ship movies. And I thought the company was ahead of the mail, and would ship the next movies in 2 days (provided they were dropped in the mail). Thinking, "if it is coming back, you ship forward". This was my misunderstanding. I thought "drop in mail", they will ship the next available movies indicated by "rapid return". This is why I ended up with 16 movies showing "out", and I was upset because I had 0 (none) for almost two weeks and felt I had this average based on my last billing (two weeks). Explanation, I typically dropped movies Fridays and Saturdays. "Hit Rapid Return" (evening) and dropped movies in the mail the next day. Add Sunday and holiday last week, and I am conflicted with Bush DVD. Add 5 days for shipping, and I have argument that it takes at least a week for return on delivery. They have the argument I am a lier, but it was never my intent. I believed a 2 day "return and return back", when "dropped in the mail". I did not know they had to recieve before they would ship the next videos. It makes the "rapid return" obsolete and meaningless? Why have this feature and include the "keep track of your honesty factor" (DREW BLACK, 2008). It would be interesting to see this disclosed to prospective members and current? Interested in the "factor". What I will, and can say in perfect honesty is that I do believe Bush DVD to be a good business. I think there was a misunderstanding with me. They have been in business for a long time, and I might be the one who has had a bad experience. And even this might have been more again, a misunderstanding. Bush DVD has very much to offer a member. They have reasonable pricing for a monthly membership, a great selection of dvd's, discreet packaging, and an obvious attention to detail (maybe too much micro-manage/ scape). But I can say as an exiting member, they were fair and "above-board". Believe it or not, I would recommend them for someone else to try and compare in terms of overall business. I think they have alot to offer anyone interested in membership. Edited by - JUSTWRONG69 on 10/24/2008 8:21:32 PM |
| Jason Holt Bush Master 81 Posts 10/03 | The decision to close your account was based on your abuse of the Rapid Return program. Rapid Return is essentially an honor program. You tell us when you dropped the DVDs in the mail; we ship the next available titles two days later. If you click the Rapid Return buttons and claim they have been returned, when the tracking information shows you haven’t received them yet, then well…we have a problem. The tracking data we receive comes directly from the Post Office. Each time a mailer goes through a machine at one of their mail centers, we get tracking info. So, if you mark two DVDs as Rapid Returned on 10/18/08 and we show a scan on 10/20/08, then you clearly did not return them on 10/18 because you had not received them yet. Jason www.bushdvd.com |

I have said some good things about Bush DVD, in addition to some complaints. I believe it was a good business move for everyone when I ended my account. The "name calling" and personal remarks I think are unwarranted and unnecessary. This was about an experience I had as a consumer, and I do wish Bush DVD continued success. |
| Drew Black broken crankshaft 8011 Posts 9/99 | BTW, I'd do the same for any of the quality sites represented on ADT. We aren't a "Bush site" or any other site for that matter. If a representative from Bush was coming in here and being an asshole I'd let them know too. |
