looking for audiophiles to recommend me the best headphones for pure sound quality for watching porn. money is no object. i primarily use my laptop with windows sonic spatial sound enabled. just need the best pair of over ear headphones to maximize this feature. noise cancellation is a far second to overall sound quality for my preferences. it seems most reviews only talk about noise cancellation and not so much about specific sound quality so need help here.

Hi - Odd that you haven't received a response. I'm just seeing this myself. Have you bought headphones? If not, is wireless important to you?

A standard for decades in the broadcast and recording industry is the Sony MDR 6502. It is a relatively "flat" response, meaning it is physically designed not to over-emphasize any part of the frequency range. Many headphones these days are designed to emphasize for example the lower end / bass. I would avoid those. You want a flat response.

How important is comfort for a long session?

Will you also be using them for music?

thanks for actually responding lol. since my post i did a little research myself. i actually wanted to go with sony but a 50 percent off black friday deal tempted me to buy beats studio pro 3's for about 150 normally a 300 dollar headphone. beats is a much hated brand but the reviews were solid enough and way too good of a deal to pass up. it will get me by as a i save up for Sony MDR-Z1R Signature Series Premium Hi-Res Headphones. current price is 1800 on sony's website. these are apparently the best they have to offer and i like to indulge on audio and visual equipment. the only thing that worries me is that specific model is nearly 5 years old. however, it is the highest price headphone i can find sony offering.

I've never tried them, but surely they're a very nice pair of headphone.

Personally, the best pair of headphones I've ever tried were electrostatic headphones from a company called Stax in Japan. A few thousand dollars, and an amp was needed to drive them, so a bit of a pain...but wow, the sound!

I have an old pair of Stax electrostatic headphones with amp I bought many years ago. I thing I got them super cheap. My memory is hazy, but at the time they (I think) listed for about $600, but some audio shop was dumping them for (I think) about $200. Either they weren't selling or maybe a new model was coming. They do sound good. I use often cheaper headphones just because I'm lazy. As inexpensive as Koss Porta Pros and Etymotics. The original poster didn't indicate if he wanted wired or wireless headphones.
