What do you consider to be the best gay porn review magazine? i have gotten some issues of Unzipped Monthly but it's totally not the same as Unzipped Weekly used to be. They don't even cover PORN as much. i haven't sampled ManShots in awhile but it's so damn expensive to subscribe to!
i was curious, whats an awesome source for a guy like me? lately i've been peeping reviews off of Gay Chicago's website.

Unfortunately, there are no "awesome" sources out there. XXX Showcase has the best previews, but no opinion (you have to wait until the annual Adam's Guide).
As you probably know, Gay Chicago Magazine is a pretty good source for what they cover. Mannet reviews have the most detail, but their ratings are not that discriminating, so you really have to pay attention to what is written and get a feel for each reviewer's tastes.
Personally, I try to gather information from as many sources as possible before I make a purchase. I even have a spreadsheet that allows me to do some simple analysis of how a video compares to others reviewed by the same source (a bit geeky, I know, but I am an engineer).
There's not a lot out there, and what is out there makes us work hard at separating objective analysis from promotion, even if we can pinpoint a reviewer/magazine/website's preference. That's just the way it is.
We're trying, Steph. I have about 20 titles in my possession, plus a few rentals for which I took extensive notes while viewing. I spent all afternoon writing a review of one (that was just reviewed by someone else, no less) and I still didn't finish. I'm finding it's taking a lot more effort than I thought it would when I started.
But I will agree, I think I get better opinions here than anywhere else. Thanks to everyone for that. And folkyboy, that issue of Manshots with Johnny Brosnan on the cover? It stayed around the bookstore here for over a year also. It reviewed Out of Athens--that's how old it is!
i prefer that movies are reviewed by more than one person. plus it makes it more fun if people make fun of something in the movie! i know it kinda sucks when you wanna be the first to review it, but i love it when i can hear 2 people's perspectives on something. just because there's a review out there doesn't mean ANYTHING, my friend
