I've read through a bunch of the threads on this board, but I haven't found a satisfactory answer.
Club X seems to be where it's at, but is there somewhere better? Like some obscure store in an alley in Collingwood?
I want good quality, recent porn. Nothing too risque or niche.
Best, to me, is good stuff that is also REALLY CHEAP. I don't have a significant income, so I can't afford to throw money away, and $55 for one movie is insane, it makes me broke.
I don't have a credit card, so I don't like to shop online, but I can get a friend to purchase it if I have to. So, if there's maybe an online company that does better than the best store here I'd love to check them out.

Scipio will give you some local info, but really unless you take advantage of a trip to the ACT or even Sydney sometimes, online ordering from overseas or deals struck on the ADT International trading forum would be your best bet.
1) Club X's prices are obscene. Even their exchange prices are obscene. It costs more to exchange a "gold" disc than you'll pay one of the better online stores for a brand-new disc.
2) There's a number of smaller stores in the CBD. There's at least three sets of linked stores, with 2-3 each. Pirated discs are rife in at least two of them, and the prices on the pirated discs range from $20 low end to the stores selling them for the same $50-65 that real discs are selling for. When you can get a new, real disc (of your choice) for US$20 (about $24-26, before postage) do you really want to be paying $20 for a DVD-R?
3) Renting x-rated is illegal here. Actually, selling them in stores is as well, but the relevent authorities turn a blind eye. Though almost nothing sold openly is actually rated by the OFLC, so it's not actually X, it's unrated. It's technically illegal to sell films that haven't been rated locally, even if it's a Disney movie.
4) You can rent in New Zealand. That's not real useful to us in Melb, though.
My personal recommendation would be Adult DVD Today. They're part of the ADT kickbacks scheme, offer coupons and sales, they ship very fast, and the items arrive very quickly, usually in less than a week.
thanks scipio. again, not what i wanted to hear, but it's good to know that there is at least one place i can try. when i get around to looking into this thing i'll let you know how it turns out.
I've found a newsagency in Melb CBD that sells pirated DVDs for $10 each, or 3 for $15. Plus you can swap them over for $5 each - whihc is as good as renting in my book.
It's obviously illegal on numerous accounts, but there's little opportunity outside of the ACT to buy cheap porn. So I manage to live the with guilt.
The range is pretty good and seems to get updated regularly. I haven't had any problems with quality yet....
Let me know if you want more information, about where they are etc
thanks for that too. i don't have a problem with the illegality part, considering x movies are illegal anyway, it's just that i don't think you get all of the BTS and stuff when you get pirated ones.
Guys, please note that we can't discuss or promote sources of pirate material on this forum, so if you wish to discuss this it will have to be via private mail.
I have been to the SexyLand store on the M1 (on the way to the airport) a few times. They're completely legit, but a bit expensive. Around $50 for a new DVD and about half that for a swap over.
The thing that keeps me going back there is that they have a big range, and the girls that work behind the counter are quite attractive. They have also recently added a GGG section, of which I'm a big fan.
Hope that is helpful.
Cheers
Matt ps - excuse my ignorance, but what does BTS mean?
i prefer sexyland's range of movies to club x's. like you pointed out, they have more risque stuff. plus, they have the lovely ladies, as mentioned. but i think they're too old for me.
went to two on elizabeth street tonight. liberated and the other one practically next to it. liberated had a crappy selection but were pretty cheap. the other one had a MASSIVE selection, absolutely phenomenal, but EVERY title costs $66.
Yeah, I've been to that $66 one on Elizabeth st. I agree too expensive, plus the owner is a bit pushy. There's a couple on Russell St, which aren't too bad.
He was insane! He was waaaay too pushy. I had to catch a train, and he wouldn't stop talking at me. All I could think was 'as if I'm crazy enough to pay $66 per movie.'
I'm still on the hunt for the best stuff. Are there any good non-chain stores in the outer suburbs? Is there some kind of smut central? I know there's random stuff in St Kilda, but that's inner city.
The best you're going to find is probably one of the Sexylands, but the thing is, we're a captive market here, so Sexyland, Club X and the rest all charge $50-70 because they can .
Solution? Get yourself a Debit Card (ATM card with Visa function, but it can only use your available funds, so no debts) and ADT your discs.
Trust me, young Padawan. I've been on the same quest in the past and the answer which you seek does not exist. Search your feelings, you know it to be true....
scipio is right, I mostly order from the US, have never had any problem. If a film is classified/rated by the OFLC it is very likely to have been edited by the distributor ie Calvista, to meet the requirements for the X rating. There are shops in other states like the Toolshed in Sydney that will do phone orders and accept a cheque or money order I'm pretty sure.
For updates on what's on going with particular DVD's you can check out [invalid URL removed]Refused Classification
Most of the movies I'm interested in I've seen on the shelves, but the exorbitant prices are a deterent. If the dvd's were $20 each, I would buy several a month.
What is the OFLC?, Iam a private collector/seller in the UK not a company and have hundreds of copies and legit dvds (all hardcore) these are rated in the UK as R18..Is there a rule to say I couldn't/could send DVDs over to Aus.
I have a house in Perth as my wife is Aus and I lived in WA for years, we moved to UK because of my work.
I have a PayMate account aswell. (Aus PayPal like.)
Any interests/suggestions?... I'd like to help as much as I could.
Alright, so I found a good place. Two doors down from Jb HI-FI on Elizabeth Street is a DVD place that sells imports. There is adult stuff in the back room. They don't have the greatest selection, like the guy at the top end of the street, but they still have some great stuff, and they have deals where if you buy more than one it's cheaper, ANd they have exchange. they have videos and dvds, all flavours. I imagine you could make requests for titles too.
The interesting thing is, the titles from the bigger companies that put out the better products are more expensive, so the scale is proportionate to the quality of the film. I.E. generic company film = $25. Evil Empire film = $45, approx.
Check it out and let me know if I made a good find or not.

How much are the exchanged titles? In my area I can get good used porn DVDs for about 15 dollars, recently bought Private's Sex City for 20 dollars, and some other titles for as low as 10 dollars...
umm, like i said, varies depending on the quality of the actual movie, and the disc. don't know if anything is $15, but around $20 for a lower grade pic. maybe euro pissing stuff, maybe.
sexyland have this thing where if you buy two new release VHS titles, which cost $15, you can get them both for $20. this is quite good if you don't mind the old vhs, essentially are just interested in the film, don't mind crappy quality, and still want almost fresh stuff.
i've been taking advantage of this, as i am cheap, and i don't know if i'll be able to check out that online sale thing. hmm... MAYBE...
MM, did you see Axis have Evil Empire DVDs at $14.95 in the sale? There's a heap of VCA DVDs (and others) at $4.95. I hope you get a chance to put in an order, 'cos we never seem to get really good deals that often down here....
