Tell us who you are - and I'll tell you where you stand Our most recent newsletter lists out the most price searched titles of the summer - that doesn't mean the titles were actually purchased though. The data is skewed by titles that were reviewed and good bargains. The newsletter is at: [url=75276]https://www.adultdvdtalk.com/newsletter/</A [Link] |

Well, from Evil Angel, my best-selling DVD title, is The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women. I've had to have it reduplicated three times already! Other hot ones: Buttman's Ultimate Workout, Buttman's Anal Show, Buttman in Budapest, Dog Walker and Drop Sex, Rocco Never Dies 1 and 2, Euro Hardball, and the transexual series, Rogue Adventures - The Big-Ass She-Male Adventure. I'd love other studios to post their top sellers too. Customers usually know something that industry reviewers don't. [Link] |

At Five Star DVD we often receive email asking how we "pick" our top 10 and top 50 list. We don't pick those titles, our customers do, based on their purchases. Our best sellers page shows our 50 best selling titles over the past 10 days. This list comes directly from our sales database and is updated several times each day. Our list definitely shows our best selling titles and not some titles that we are trying to push that day.

Hey, Faron at PrivateUSA & OGV here. On the Private side best sellers have been Pyramid, Tatiana, Uranus Experiment, Cumshots Deluxe, Millennium and Call Girl. For OGV the best selling straight title we've had is I Swallow, best selling Gay is Ryker's Revenge. Although, we started just started shipping Shane's World #19 (the first of the series on DVD) to distributors day before yesterday. If the reaction of the distributors is any indication, Shane's World #19 may just blow past anything else we've released as far as sales are concerned. [Link] |

TORRIS- All DVD- from August 1999 to present.( I did say THIS YEAR, I meant last 12 month period) Worldwide.(Including Overseas Manufactured Units) Video figures from release date- Snow Leopard (Jan 1999) 50,000 Plus Dinner Party (1994-5) 500,000 Plus (currently a catalog priced title, so numbers are less important) Caribbean Undercover (April 2000) 6800 I am happy to provide exact figures and verification for qualified publications or individuals. e-mail me direct if you fit that profile. jkrull@pheinc.com

Wow! Over 100k copies of Snow Leopard have been sold on DVD? That's very impressive. That may be the #1 selling adult DVD title of all time. I don't think that anything else comes close.

I think Flashpoint has sold close to that amount or more. And some others as well. I am factoring in overseas manufacture and sales as well. I also launced it at a very attractive price, it opened up our entire DVD market. But there are other huge sellers, you just have to add up all the worldwide distributors [Link] |

CORRECTION CORRECTION SNOW LEOPARD DVD SALES FIGURES ARE NOT 100,000 UNITS My sales figures had 35,000 SNOW LEOPARD CD ROMS in the unit total. Our unit sales combined of the two products was over 100,000. But DVD SALES were 65,000 from August 1999-present. The figure also DOES include approx. 5000 promotional units. I AM SORRY FOR THE INCORRECT REPORT. The CD ROM sales were part of the Snow Leopard Video new release. They were lumped in as Snow Leopard DVD's in error. The other title are correct. [Link] |

Torris - too many competitors here Evil Angel is continually a top seller, but since there's no way to verify that other companies would be accurate with their numbers, I'll kindly refrain... ! An initial run is between 2,000 - 10,000. [Link] |

Tricia is right about the numbers not being reported correctly by many companies. The AVN monthly best sellers is based on what they are faxed, and only include wholesale distribution. They really don't tell you anything. (exept who is willing to tell the lie) The rental numbers are far more accurate. When it comes to DVD, it is very easy to find out, the replicators (most of their business comes from the general release world) Would be happy to report runs, in any event reporting should be done by ANYONE but the production company. But until that changes, producers should be required to provide some sort of documentation. Many studios encourage "over ordering", and remain willing to take back product or issue a credit to lower the cost.(to the distributor) The sales numbers should be based over at least a three month period, re-orders and no returns are "true" sign of a titles strength, not first week sales. Many studios also send product on consignment and report the shipped items as sales. As far as DVD sales go, I tend to go with most online stores numbers- granted some feature certain lines- but it is a far more accurate then taking the numbers reported by the studios. [Link] |

FYI The average size "run" in Adult is under 2000 units. Some studios will order more, I.E. Dreamquest, Barely Legal. The replicators are becoming much more reliable as far as delivery is concerned. So ordering huge runs does not make sense-unless you are pre-booked, we do an average of run of 4000 on year 2000 released content, and 2000 on older titles transfered to DVD. Some U.S. based companies have also cut their re-order size (min) from 1000 to 500, yielding to indusrty pressure. There are exceptions of course. Most studios have been fairly open about their orders, those that have not been, are probably at the high end of the voluntary reported sales charts as well. [Link] |
