In my brief visit to the sleaze strip, I did have some damn good lap dances at O'Farrell's -- and justified the expense as part of Sexual History in the USA research. Kinda like visiting the Liberty Bell or the Lincoln Memorial, only, uh, different.

But, if you REALLY want to have sex -- you'd be better off getting a hooker. Or finding your way to some kinky nightclub scene. (There's a sex paper in SF but I don't recall the name, it would have all the info).

I hear North Beach is better and cheaper. Some place called the Hungry I -- maybe?

The Hustler club is totally lame. Avoid it.
The Lusty Lady next door is a hoot -- though I doubt you will be inclined to drop many bills there. It's just fun to take a quick browse.

I did hear that North Beach was more fun and "real." You could just go up there one afternoon and mill about, poke around, see if you find anything interesting.

I've spent a lot of time in strip clubs, but find that if you want actual sex they are not cost-efficient. If you want to flirt, get your dick rubbed, maybe (after a few visits) get a date with a dancer "outside" the club setting, well -- that's plausible. I'm also of the opinion, though, that someone offering you a $60 BJ is not really someone you want to accept a BJ from -- covered or uncovered. But find some fun exhibitionist punk-rock type girls who dance because it gets them off, and you will be in for a good time, with or without a visit to the Slurpee Dispenser.

There are also fun little nightclubs in the Mission District that open up late, with plenty of sexy young women and music and drinks. You could check the local weekly for listings. If you're inclined to visit the strip clubs, why not just go meet someone for a night's adventure without paying for it?

Otherwise, I imagine the local sex paper has ideas and listings for you.

For instance, recently I passed an attractive woman with shoes that I found sexy (just the leopard print did it). She must have noticed. It was a Sunday at dusk, a perfect time. I'd say, hit one of the North Beach clubs and do a little circuit. Just go in, have a brew, toss a few dollar bills onstage, and see if anyone winds your clock. if the vibe is friendly enough, see if you can get a few $10 lapdances, and take it from there. Avoid the VIP Room. You might get your fingers wet, but usually that's just a lot of rubbing without full sexual contact. However, there are certainly some underground clubs in SF -- quasi-swinger type bars -- where you can get some jollies. Again, do some investigating, and I'm sure you'll find something fun. However, you will likely have to spend some cash to pave the road to ruin.
