Is this always the case that a download will look worse than a dvd or are there some sources where you can buy older scenes, like 2009 and older and still download them in good quality? [Link] |

They each came from the same source except that the digitized version offered by ADE can no longer degrade while the same can't be said for the dvd version which has a shelf life inherent to the technology. Of course if ADE had to use a dvd that had degraded then their digitized video would be in the same shape but that would preclude that there were likely no better version of the movie. Your resolution for dvd are dead on but I'm not so sure that most people can tell the difference between a 480p and a 576p video. Obviously the more recent the video is. The better resolution it will be but that's entirely because digital cameras have gotten better over the years and since there is no loss of data during the transfer since it's all digital then we don't have to worry about loss of video quality over time.
