Thanks, but which poster's link is infected? There are 9 different links in that thread. They couldn't possibly all be infected with the same virus.

I was infected with something like what you describe back in January of this year. I never did find out where I got it. If you have the same thing I did it also affects search engine results and puts in fake results going to the "antivirus" site and changes the links on the real results to go to the "antivirus" site as well. I used Spyware Doctor from PC Tools to clean it off my machine and it worked beautifully.

I have deleated all the obvious attacks but sometimes it seems that I am directed to random sites so I do not think I have gotten it all.

BTW, I notice that a Google search for adult dvd reviews now shows that adultdvdreviews.com is a site that could harm your computer. I haven't seen that message before but it doesn't sound good.

It's something new Google is doing. Here are the specifics for their warning for Adult DVD Reviews:

I had read something on a webmaster board a while ago about Google doing this kind of thing. I never saw it come up in any of the searches that I do on a regular basis.

That is interesting. I also have McAfee SiteAdvisor installed, and it gives it a green check, meaning they found no significant problems. That makes me wonder how often McAfee updates/tests the sites.
