I occasionally get an XRent Wishlist Item reminder email for new releases telling me that the title is now in stock when in fact it is not .

I don't mean that the title is already out of stock when I get the message. It just hasn't been made available because the Buy/Rent buttons are still greyed out.

Does this have anything to do with the site update?

Thanks

It has nothing to do with the site updates. Blame it on plain old human error.

In a nutshell, when we are adding in new products and we are ready to publish them, an email is sent automatically to those requesting notification. Sometimes we accidentally publish products that should not be made available until a day or two later. We then move the "publish" date to the correct date but the emails unfortunately may have already gone out. We respect the street dates studios place on their DVDs but in order to be able to offer those products on the actual street date, we recieve them few days earlier.

I am assuming that many of these "false" emails you are getting come on Friday for DVDs that are set to be available on Saturday. This may be happening because both Friday and Saturday's new releases are entered into our system on Friday. (Sorry, try as we may to get our purchasing dept. to work on Saturday they need a day off too.) Sometimes a Saturday new release may get overlooked and get accidentally added as a Friday release. This does not happen very often but we are only human and these mistakes can happen. Once we recognize the error, we then deactivate the title so that it becomes available the day it is originally scheduled for.

My best suggestion would be if in the future you recieve these false emails, please forward them to our customer service email address (customerservice@xrentdvd.com) to alert us to the issue. That way we can go back and see if it was indeed human error or another issue we have yet to identify.

We appreciate the feedback as we make XRentDVD the best place to rent and/or purchase adult DVDs on the web.
