Sophia Rossi, Tangled In Hangmans Noose In Tampa:

Steve Huff had a simple idea in his hometown of Tampa, He was going to throw an erotic ball on Friday March 13th, to benefit the Autism Society of Florida. He had hired some porn stars to come down to Tampa and help make the event a success.

Among them, Sophia Rossi was the headliner as were Alexis Amore, Vivian West, Stephanie Swift and others. It started when Sophia wasn't happy with her accomodations at the Homestead Suites an extended stay property nearby. From what i gather Rossi read Steve the riot act and she and Alexis moved to the nearby Sheraton, apparently they then decided to give Huff an ultimatum asking to be paid in advance or they would go home. Steve didn't and they did.

Vivian and Stephanie decided they were there to do a job and stuck it out. When Friday rolled around the show simply put, bombed, selling fewer than 100 tickets. Apparently the combination of talent problems, failure of the show and a bounced check from a show sponsor pushed Steve Huff off the deep end.

When Stephanie and Vivian returned to their hotel on Saturday morning, after spending the night with friends after the show Friday night, they found Steve hanging from the hotel balcony, a suicide. They called 911 who brought him back but on Monday the plug was pulled on his life support, he was never going to recover.

I knew Steve from the many Tampa Shows I have attended and knew him to be a kind and gentle sort of guy, not the type who could deal with pornchick drama and apparently not the most stable fellow either.

Outside Tampa, Steve wasn't known in the biz but he was one of us, he will be missed.

This guy has definitely had a habit of ripping people off:

But seriously, it sucks that he hung himself.

Random comments...

--If a girl agrees to do an event for charity, she shouldn't be too demanding about where she is housed. It should be clean and safe, anything more than that should not be expected.

--It's a horrible thing for a person to commit suicide, and it's very rarely over the events of one day or even one weekend.

--I remember this guy from Tampa. While I do feel sad that his situation had gotten apparently so bad, I remember thinking "who the hell is this guy and why is he always hanging around?" He didn't seem to me to be a guy who was real capable of organizing anything big.

That's like saying water can be wet.

Its too bad it had to go down like it did, but as Tricia said, it wasn't just this event which pushed him over the edge so to speak.

+1, awesome point Mrs. Stag!

This I'm a pornstar, treat me like royalty crap is the kind of drama that distracts from the industry from this consumer's point of view. NOTE TO MS. SWIFT & MS. ROSSI: You are NOT special because you fuck on film.

It reminds of the chronicles I've read regarding Dirty Bob and the annual Tampa Show. I don't know him, but I know the poor bastard doesn't seem to get a break from the kind of talent mentioned above.

Elvis has left the building.

Sophia Rossi's Manager Responds to Story About Steve Huff's Suicide
"Steve wanted to punch me in the face"

[name removed] writes: Please allow me to clarify some details in regards to the misfortunate happenings surrounding the Tampa Erotic Ball [link removed: No tube sites] As Sophia’'s [pictured] manager, I accompanied her to Tampa last weekend and did most of the communication with Steve.
Things started off badly upon arrival at the airport, when instead of having a chauffeured car as promised, he put three of the performers and me into one taxi, and two others in his personal car. Then he took us to a very low-budget hotel that was not the one he told me we would be at.
When I asked for Sophia’s per diem, he said we could pay for it ourselves. Two other performers besides Sophia were upset about the situation, and I told them I would speak on their behalf so that Steve would not be overwhelmed by complaints.
When I went to speak with him in his room, it was clear that he had been living there. This led me to assume that he had intended on putting us there all along, rather than the place he had originally arranged. He claimed that no other hotel in town would allow him to make reservations, since they recognized his name or face from the recent press attention he had been getting for the event, and the hotel managers did not want adult performers staying there. I assured him that we could put the reservations on my card or someone else’s, as long as he provided the money, but he seemed reluctant to do this.
That night, he took us to dinner at a gentleman’s club, and when we got there, we realized that Sophia’s presence (along with the other girls) was being advertised, and he was making money off of it.
I had no knowledge of this whatsoever, so this obviously took my distrust of him to a different level. Sophia and I took a taxi back to the hotel, and two of the other girls decided to come along, as they were also very disturbed by the way things had been going up to that point. The four of us moved to a different hotel and then tried to work things out with Steve over the phone. Communication was extremely difficult, and at one point he even said that he wanted to punch me in the face.
When it became clear that Steve was not going to abide by the terms of the contract, I advised Sophia not to attend the event. One of the girls' agents advised her to do the same. The other performer decided on her own not to attend.
The last thing I want to do is start a smear campaign against someone who has recently passed away. Nevertheless, I feel it is necessary to point out that this man was troubled, and the only person responsible for his problems was himself. Sophia never did anything that would have led this man to take his own life and should not be held responsible in any way for what happened. By saying that her cancellation could have set the wheels in motion, you are implying that she is in some way responsible for this man's death. If you insist on blaming anyone besides Steve, that person should be me

I think Sophia and the other girls were right in leaving. The guy was dishonest with them from the start and as far as Mike South goes he should have done a little checking before posting that article. If he would have he would have seen the guy had a long history of failed events because he couldnt meet what he had agreed upon. Its really sad that the guy chose to take his own life but these girls shouldnt be to blame

If the claims that this guy was a financial mess as well as a liar are correct, I haven't any sympathy on him and I'd agree that the girl's were right for skipping town.

To ammend my first random comment...
I said that all girl should expect for accomodations is something clean and safe; I want to add that if they were promised something specific, then the person who promised them that should abide by that.

If one person breaks a contract or is deceitful (and conning porn girls into making an appearance at a strip club that they're not aware of is just bottom of the barrel deceitful), then the contract should become null and void on both sides.
