Immediately I noticed a cool new feature: From each of the scenes, there are onscreen links to fetish sequences within the scene. Each scene has a menu of oral, anal & cum shot on the side, and navigating to and selecting the link beams you there pronto. Cool, right? Well, except for the fact that you can no longer Fast Forward, Rewind or Pause! Yes - you heard right! I can't believe that they have lost this functionality. Is this the new model for all RLD releases? Obviously, this is a huge flaw in the basic mastering of this disc. Dion - Comments?

Although I can fast forward/backward when the menu appears, my picture reduces in height as if in wide screen format with the black bands appearing top and bottom. The only way I can get back to a full screen picture is to press "stop" then "play" until the next section when the procedure has to be repeated. If there is a way to swithch off the menu I would love to hear it. Thankfully RLD are looking to scrap this feature on future releases. |

He hasn't updated that statement, however boths discs released since then (Swallow My Pride #2 and 110% Natural #4) have had this "function (disabling a DVD player is not a "function", it's an error). I think that it's time for me to stop buying Red Light titles until I can be assured that this "function" no longer exists. |

To spend two or three hundred for a DVD player and then it will not play some DVD's, what a frustrating experience. I told myself that I would not switch over to renting DVD's until I bought a DVD recorder. It looks as though we are going thru the VHS Beta thing all over again and in spades with the different kind of DVD burners. I am in the process of learning all I can from different sources like this and other talk lines to gain as much knowledge as possible before I spend money on a DVD recorder. My first VCR back in 1985 cost $795 for a 4 head machine that would cost around $100 now. From what I hear the prices are dropping faster than VCR's but I know that is bad news for the movie business both xxx and G. Luckly with movies staying around one and half hours and processing speed doubling every 18 months rentals will be a thing of the past as we will all be downing loading movies from the source in a matter of seconds soon. I can hardly wait. Wayne |

And i don´t want to subsidize a Industry that obviously does not know the meaning of the word ´standard´. That applies to dvd producing companies as well as to dvd-player producing companies. Even if your are ´happy´ that your newly bought dvd actually will play on your machine ´we´ (the paying customer ) get some free features nobody seems to want at all ! I demand the following ... (and i think i´m not alone) no disabeling of any buttons on the remote ! (period) Sure i wouldn´t mind a dvd-recorder too ... but ... by the time´they have decided what STANDARD suits their needs the most there will be someting new that makes your investment into a certain model look very stupid. In the end maybe not even the best system will win (BETA <-> VHS <-> VIDEO2000) I´m currently viewing a dvd ... when i´m done i will start a thread about this dvd and (hoppefully) get some input from others and see what they think about ´the kind of blessing´ we received with this dvd. cube Edited by - cubesnake on 1/7/2003 4:48:32 AM |
| Markus76 Member Germany 43 Posts 8/02 | if a other problem with Red Light DVD´s. Sometimes you can´t chose the trailers. If you serach between the name of Movies the cursor stops and you can´t select a other Title. You can only push the stop and then the menu button. And in older titles from a half year ago. The last two scenes from Straight to the A´s 1 didn´t run on the standalone player. Wth the DVD-Player in a PC i don´t have problems. They play everything. But i don´t want to sit on the PC and wanna watch DVD´s. How do you think about it? Markus76 |

| M.B. Senior Member 1679 Posts 2/01 | My Sony is able to FF while this menu appears, but I just can't stand seeing that thing on the screen during a scene, it's annoying. Why is it that everytime an adult company tries something new they never thoroughly test it or ask customers what they think of it before implementing it, never. Now a lot of people are upset over the fact that they can't FF on their machine or they don't like seeing the menu on the screen during the scenes. I'm sure RLD have lost some sales because of this and I know I won't buy another one of their discs until I'm sure that the on screen menu is not there anymore.
