I recall reading that the budget for Pirates was $1 million and the budget for the two-part series "Millionaire" was $2 million. Either way you look at it, these three movies each had a budget of a million dollars. All are from Private. For those who remember the heyday of Private, they had some of the most lavish productions around. They regularly shot in exotic locations like the Caribbean, Africa, the Mediterranean, etc. They shot on yachts frequently too. In one movie, "The Uranus Experiment," they shot the only (that I know of) porn scene in a weightless environment. Private chartered an aircraft capable of parabolic flight to simulate weightlessness. If anyone is interested, all these are available on the Private site.

Pirates II had a production budget of over 8 million dollars. I don't think we'll ever see a porn with kind of budget ever again.

Just looked at wiki, Caligula had a budget of $17.5 million... that's in 1979 USD, which comes to 78,093,388 in 2025 USD.
