Guys do you have any info about who is the highest paid pornstar nowadays? Is it tori black, jenna haze, sasha grey, bobbi starr, phoenix marie, or who?
That's a trickier question today than a few years ago. The current state of the porn industry is such that most studios shooting schedules are way down and the number of available performers is way high. That means very few jobs shared among too many people so even the most popular girl is still not likely to get more than a few jobs per week or month. The days of an independant making a killing by shooting for every studio is no more. These days any performer who gets a contract must consider herself the luckiest person in the world. You have a guaranteed salary with a very small shooting schedule. The money may not be as high as you'd want but it's better than fighting with every other girl. I suspect that a contract girl probably makes around 50,000$ a year from shooting porn and who knows from her other gigs. Edited by - pat362 on 10/28/2011 11:14:04 AM

Based on my encyclopedic knowledge of all things Bree Olson ;) I think that the top free agent girls were able to make more money from porn shoots then the top contract girls. At least this may have been so prior to the decline in work available. Back in early June, after she had left Sheen and before she announced she was no longer going to be shooting scenes, she was asked about porn economics on the Preston & Steve Morning Show in Philly (link to the interview no longer available on their website). She made several interesting points. The first is that she had been making more as a free agent (pre-Sheen) then she had been as an Adam & Eve contract star because she was getting the top rate and had enough offers so that she could shoot as many scenes as she wanted at the top rate. Post-Sheen she had been getting a flood of offers but that the per scene rate being offered had not gone up by much because the production companies, given current porn economics, could not afford more than the top rate which she had been getting pre-Sheen. The advantage of being on contract is that you had a stable income and it was less work (shooting actual scenes) as the contracts called for a limited number of scenes per year. In terms of time commitment the promotional demands on a contract star, at least from Adam & Eve, took up more time then shooting scenes. The advantage of limited work load of a contract star is that it allowed for more time to make money from shooting exclusive content for a personal website, feature dancing and "other" potential sources of income. I think that you might see more and more of the top girls retire or semi-retire from shooting scenes as the economics of the porn industry cap or push down the rates even the top stars can get even assuming there are enough scenes being shot to provide them with work.

But why do some say, that -when asked why there isn't so much anal, dap these days - the biz is down and and most studios cannot pay performers to do gangbangs etc etc. The weak economy should wash more and more hot young unemployed chicks up the pornshore. If the number of performers is way too high, then there should be more anal by hot girls (like back in '03, '04. ). But obviously it isn't the case...
My personal theory and I frankly have no proof is that girls are affraid to do anal, dp's and DAP's because they could get infected with the HIV virus. I'm probably way off on this one but if I am then what's the reason why so few girls avoid doing these things since that would guarnatee them some extra jobs? If I was a performer right now then I would be very nervous seeing has there have been 2 HIV scandals this year. Two in a decade would be a lot but in the same year is rather scary.
I didn't consider Belladonna because she doesn't really appear in porn anymore. She has done a couple of scenes this year and may do more but for now she's now known primarily as a director. Bobbi Starr is a different story because she's known as a performer who also directs from time to time.
I think about a couple of years or so ago we saw a large influx new girls come into the biz (especially at some companies) but only a few of them caught on and became stars. There were a of girls but not that many were anything special. I think those girls didn't attract much of an audience so some companies decided it would be more profitable to stick with the current stars and/or repackage old scenes for new releases.But with rates down perhaps the girls who really don't want to do anal figure the current asking prices aren't worth it. Or the studios/directors have decided the mid level girls who didn't do it before aren't worth paying the extra bucks for anal from them because no enough people care to make it a big deal and worth the extra money. But actually from what I see more girls have started doing anal, IR and stuff they weren't doing before at a faster pace these days than before...at least the girls I tend to watch.
I think the most part of her incomes come from selling her old material or the material she produces , as a performer unless she pays herself she very likely earns nothing anyway Jenna Jameson is the one who earns the most , in the order of millions
There are a lot of cogs in the wheel to being an old school contract girl where it is lucrative, porn and sex is so prevalent right now that it is almost insane. Whatever you want to see or do is available via the internet.
i'd wager tori black made more in her last full year 2010 than any contract girl. kayden kross,riley steele, etc. aren't willing to do the things and work with the people(directors) that free agents do. that's the chief motivation to be a contract girl. if bibi jones had decided to remain as britney beth and was willing to work with jay sin,adriano, and the rest, she'd be working as much as she wished.

Comparing contract girls to free agents is tricky. If you look at it on a scene per scene basis the contract girls probably make a lot more per scene if their contract is broken down per scene. However, since a gonzo girl has the ability to work much more often, even though it's for less per scene at the end of the year the gonzo performer could actually earn more money than the contract girl. But a contract girl is usually getting paid for more than simply shooting scenes with their contract salary. They do promotion/appearances, photo shots, and other duties also. But yeah, if it all comes down to who makes the most money in a year, there are gonzo girls who earn more than contract girls.
I don't know if they're up for consideration.. but i believe male performers earn more than the female performers... Considering the ratio of male to female performers in the industry & the amount of scenes they shoot. Im pretty sure directors who perform, like Manuel Ferrara & Mike Adriano must clearly earn more than a majority of the female performers. In the raw series u can see manuel ferrara ridin around in a Bentley. Also in one of his scenes Mike Adriano was drivin a Lamborghini or a Porsche. Edited by - razminerva14 on 10/30/2011 12:35:56 PM
