I'm posting in this forum mostly because the vast, vast majority of Bills work as actor, writer, and director was in features. It's pretty widespread online now, but in case anyone doesn't already know, Bill Margold died of a heart attack yesterday at age 73. Although he's best known for his work as an actor, he also wrote dozens of scripts and directed a bunch of movies (mostly SOV stuff, though he directed (and acted in) a very underrated 35mm feature called INNER BLUES, which was erroneously credited to Vinnie Rossi). Bill was a major force in defending the first amendment and also paving the way for legalizing the production of hardcore movies in Los Angeles County, thanks in part to his testimony during the Hal Freeman trial in 1988 (yeah, it was 100% illegal to shoot hardcore sex in LA before 1988!). On a personal level was a great friend for years and processing his loss will definitely be difficult, but in honor of Bill, try to find one of his early movies to watch. And better still, check out his incredible appearances on Wally George, like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZSH6VZgaXg
Bill Margold (R.I.P.) I actually caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye, I was walking up Sweetzer towards Sunset in West Hollywood and he was standing by this Volkswagen Van.
Very sad indeed. He was a persistent defender of adult film and a great source of information as a historian. I was lucky enough to have lunch with him not so long ago. I'm glad I did while I had the chance.

RIP. I'll have to see if I can track down INNER BLUES. I think one of the few features I remember seeing with a prominent role for him was the bizarre WEEKEND FANTASY.
This is really sad news. My first trip to vegas and first trip to the convention coincided had to be about 15 years ago. Somehow thru online I had some into contact with bill and mentioned my first trip out and he was very generous to me. Didn't know me from adam but gave me the address to his store and said stop on by. When I did he asked if I had tickets to the convention and when I said no he said here you go and then said the hall of fame induction will be here tonight come on by and I'll get you in for it as well. It was the year nina hartley and joey silvera went in. Really went above and beyond. I never forgot his kindness. R.I.P. Bill. Kimi Lixx,Julie Night,Tina Tyler and then everyone else.
I talked to Mike Merlino about doing a car wash in Bill's honor. That was always one of his favorite things to do, to raise money for P.A.W. (Protecting Adult Workers) the other was bowling. But the car wash would be more fun. If anyone likes the idea of this becoming a reality let me or Mike know. Summer's coming, it will be a good time to get it planned and do it.

Just listen to a Rialto report podcast with Nina Hartley from like 6 years ago where Nina could Bill a creep and she didn't really like him that much. If you scroll down the comment section of that podcast, you'll see Bill Margold listen to it and commented, he called her out on the diss. I'll let you find it and listen to the interview yourself.
