Can anyone confirm this, or provide details?
Bjorn's first two DVD releases (Comrades in Arms and A World of Men) were manufactured and distributed by Atomic Video. But I don't think his middle pair (ManWatcher and Hot Times in Little Havana) or his most recent pair (Mystery Men and Vampire of Budapest) were at all. Does anyone know who's producing them now? Is Atomic still making them--but not attaching their name? Anyone know the story behind this?
Not only do the latter four not mention Atomic in any way on the discs themselves, but they aren't listed on the Atomic website--and the few online stores that carry them list them only as Bjorn productions. In fact, only two or three online stores are carrying them yet. This is compared with seven or eight sites that carry all the Atomic titles, including the very recent Eruption...
More evidence: though the movies themselves are fine transfer-wise, the menus and extras on the last four were clearly done with a smaller budget--and a less artistic eye. Things have improved again somewhat on the final pair, which at least feature full-motion chapter menus again (though they're much smaller than before) plus a short director's commentary on the slideshow track...
If anyone knows the story about this, I'd love to hear it. I think Kristen's latest releases are great as a whole, but I wonder what happened, and who is behind them now. And I hope more stores will start carrying them soon...<small>
