I take issue with the idea that it used to be virtually impossible to find a film with a black girl doing anal. The idea ignores the contributions of women like Sahara, Jeannie Pepper, Janet Jacme, Lana Sands, Monique, India and Vanessa Blue, to name a few.
As for the new "phat" genre, I'm not into it. Obviously enough other people are for companies to be running series dedicated to it.
I'm a relatively young cat, only been watching porn for about 10 years. True it was not impossible to find black girl anal scenes in the past. But black girl were still not doing it as much as white girls. All the women you mentioned are vets. It was not until recently that black girls just getting into the industry would do anal first scene. Did black anal titles appear on shelfs because people wanted it or are black girls more comfortable with it these days?
So far as I'm concerned, black performers have been keeping par with white performers since I started watching porn, which was considerably longer than ten years ago.
Don't forget that the white talent pool is larger to begin with, so you can't prove anything by absolute numbers. You have to go by percentages, and getting a handle on those would be tough, to say the least.
As for first scenes, defining those is always risky in porn. Let's just say that many of the women I noted were doing anal within the first half-dozen movies of their career. That's close enough for me.

I don't really think there has been a big difference percentagewise between black women doing anal and white women doing anal over the years. It just seems that way because of the difference in overall numbers of white and black women in porn like Hardware said. If you go back to the 80s you see pretty much the same people doing anal all the time. On the black side it was Sahara and Purple Passion, on the white it was Tanya Foxx, Penny Morgan(Rachel Ryan), Keli Richards, Buffy Davis, Jennifer Noxt, and Brittany Stryker, with Elle Rio and Tiffany Storm thrown in on the Latina side. It's just that now it is expected out of just about everyone instead of being the speciality of a select few. In the 80s and early 90s even if you needed an anal scene there was a pool of between 10 and 20 girls you could get to do one. The fact that no one would do it allowed these girls to have a long career and steady work just by being willing to do anal. Now if you need an anal scene it seems like there are about 3,000 girls you can choose from and it seems like if you want a scene with vag sex only there is a pool of about 20 girls who specialize in it. The fact is, that its simply more fiscally worth it for a girl to do anal today than in yesteryears. Black, White or Other.
The cause is people like me and you. Porn is a business and good business people will listen to feedback from consumers and commentators. I use to correspond regularly with studios and directors and often they would act on my feedback. They're just people like you and I. You can do the same.
