Consumers justify it by their unique interest in black/non-black IR.For me, the question is whether dropping contracts would make Blacked less competitive with other studios. How much of their prospective talent pool would prefer a contract?
^ to MPUSA, I agree that Mason has toned down a bunch in the post-Elegant days but her quality is still elite compared to competition. As for Blacked worrying about threats, competition is healthy to keep innovation anew. There's already monopolized entities in the adult industry and the last thing I need is the biggest boon to IR fever trying to put a vicegrip on the expansion of the genre just to lace their own pockets ^^to RobinWood I do hope the contract stuff stops too. I hate seeing some of these girls getting TP'ed, DV'ed, Peed on, et al, at will but they cant do a simple IR B/G with other companies. I mean, what kind of backwardness is that? And most of you guys complain about the lack of anal and dp's so the question the lies is: "what do the consumers gain from 'exclusivity' deals?" ^to mass it's cookie cutter in the sense of repeating the same themes, storylines, settings, lighting, scene buildup. There was the point where people expected scenes to be "miss, doggy, reverse cowgirl, creampie". Oh and the whole hypocrisy of making all the girls look the same. A site that preaches originality and natural beauty goes out of its way to restrict female freedom in scenes, not just from how they look, but the roles they portray and how they are allowed to act in scenes. AJ Applegate and Maddy O'Reilly will probably never appear on the sites. I cant wait for contracts of females such as Peta Jensen and Megan Rain to be over so I can admire them in harder scenes and in their "natural" physical appearances. I always ask, why is it acceptable for males to be tatted up head to toe but females have a flower or two and it's perceived ugly and off putting and must be covered up? If their are viewers who cant accept people for who they are and how they feel most comfortable, I cant align myself with them. And it's not that I only like tattoos, I enjoy Remy Lacroix, Valentina Nappi, Katsuni, Veronica Avluv, and Nikki Benz after she removed her tattoo and the lack of tattoos on Nyomi Banxx, Phoenix Marie, Marie Luv, Tori Black, and Jada Fire. But some girls are just so much more attractive with ink like Dana Vespoli, Jada Stevens, Monique Alexander, Juelz Ventura, and Kleio Valentien. I grew up in an open minded and diverse(but conservative) environment, so I guess my mind has molded to find the good in appearance and not focus on the shallow and trivial. Imagine if someone said they could never like you because of your haircut or facial hair, or piercings, or something endearing to you that made you unique, bet you wouldnt feel so great would you?

The gain for us is that performers choose Blacked over Archangel or some other site. For all I know some pornstars would never have shot IR in the first place without a contract.

I want to see Blacked have its pick of the talent pool for my sake as a viewer/consumer. Other than that I don't care about Blacked having competition.

Would be great to see Gracie Glam in a Blacked-scene. She is in top shape!
^^^There may be some models who would only do IR with a contract, but on the flip side there may be models who would have done more IR without a contract. There's no way to know really which is happening more. That's a separate debate, but I still wonder if there's anything more to Blacked not labeling the last two scenes "exclusive" when they would have been previously (and quite recently).
I would love to see Kaylani Lei on Blacked sometime. Maybe a scene where they meet in a club, but actually in a club setting. Not her talking about it whilst getting dressed and then immediately cutting to them kissing or whatever. Maybe in a hotel room afterwards for the sex scene. I just want a different variety of locations. It's always the same colour schemed apartments! Either way, cannot wait to see Makennas scene, she looks delicious!

^^That is why I asked "How much of their prospective talent pool would prefer a contract?" There must be some perceived benefit by performers and/or their agents to having a contract. Otherwise, I don't see why someone like Megan Rain, who could have gotten a big "first IR" payday from anyone, would have chosen to be contracted exclusively to Blacked. Cali Carter has recently become IR exclusive to Archangel. Why? Certainly not just for the hell of it. The offer of an IR contract obviously appeals to some performers and therefore helps attract talent.
I'd argue right now that the money is what appeals to performers, and the exclusive contract is just a producer's way of safeguarding the money that they're spending on said first IR. If you know that you'll have the only IR scenes of a certain performer for the next 6 months/year, you're more willing to spend more money to get said scene. Also, what can (and has) happened without contracts (with all types of firsts, not just IR) is that you pay the performer the money to shoot their first scene, they shoot another scene soon after, and that second scene gets released before your first scene, completely negating the reason you paid extra for the first in the first place. In other words, I don't think the women prefer the contracts, I think the companies do, and the women and their agents prefer the extra money that can come with them.

^What it seems to come down is the importance of the financial incentive. If you are correct, contracts provide an increased financial incentive to performers/agents to shoot IR and to do so for Blacked. As a consumer/viewer I see that as a positive accomplishment.

Contracts kill careers, unless you are Jesse Jane who wouldn't have a career without one.
As of 5:52PM EST, all of Lansky's sites are down again with a 404 error. I am a member of quite a few adult sites, and I have never seen this much downtime in all of them combined as I have with these ones!
^^^^ Wrong. Contracts almost never kill careers. Women that were never interested in porn anyway (or who lost all their interest in porn) kills careers. Anyone whose career "ends because of a contract" usually took the contract because they were looking to end their career in the first place, and the contract was one last good payday before they did so.
Well Blacked obviously cares which is why they start bidding wars and drive up the rates for these girls, providing further motivation to hold out for the biggest singular payday instead of just collecting as many checks as possible. And Blacked already has the pick of all the talent, they just choose to limit who they shoot. Their reluctance to open their talent pool allows Arch, Dogfart, Mason, and others to swoop in and build their own collection of stars. If all they care about is fresh faces and the 1st's, then get the 1st and let them go please. I was never a fan of 1st's, just piqued because now that performer can be inclined to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on. And Blacked isnt the only place I have beef with contracts either. But if the girl was only in it for the final payday and quit so she doesnt deal with the incoming backlash from her "fans", not watching. If she shoots the one or two scenes and goes back to all vanilla(like a certain milf with French heritage with the palindrome first name) just to say she did it and can cross it off her availability, I'm definitely not watching. Thats all Blacked will be to me now, a training ground for IR newbies to separate the real from the fake. I dont even know why I get so invested over it, I like thick women, women in their late 20's, mid 30's, women with some melanin in their skin, women who are aggressive and show a little resistance and take control, and I definitely would appreciate some scenarios where the black guy isnt just the lucky exotic fuckstick of the day

^Hold out? More and more performers are now shooting first IRs in their first year. That's the Blacked effect. First IR means nothing to me in and of itself. It's incidental. I don't care that a pornstar's first scene on Blacked is usually her first IR. What I care about is that she is on Blacked rather than on another site and that she is shooting IR at all. If a contract makes those things happen, then so be it.
Makenna Blue really looks fantastic. I tend to manage my expectations about most things, but I'm extra interested in this new scene. Also, I'm looking forward to 2017 and hopefully a return to Blacked for Sydney Cole, Goldie Rush and Dakota James (from retirement). And one carry-over request from 2016: Morgan Lee! Until 2017, though, I'll pimp this thread once more: Best of Blacked 2016

^ Agreed! The short hair, punky girl look probably just isn't Lansky's style, but damn they're yummy. Too bad she wouldn't shoot someone like Katie St. Ives even when she was around. That gorgeous smile was just amazing before, during and after a scene.

Anybody notice that the pics for the Lena Paul and Angela White scene show a few different angles that are missing from the actual video? I wonder if there is a longer version. Would love to have those extra angles included.

I would complain about it being Megan Rain next since I don't rate her at all, but I have Makenna's scene to watch over and over so i'm all set for the new year ;)

Yeah, I love athletic bodies and Makenna's is perfect. Add to that my love of women with short hair, and it's the perfect recipe. I especially prefer the hair coiffed/manicured like Makenna's and Katie St. Ives', instead of punky/spiky -- although, certain performers like the great Belladonna and Bella Bellz look excellent that way.
Lilly looks better with short hair, sometimes hair is too distracting and draws attention away from the girls' beauty. Joslyn James and Bella Bellz always looked better with short hair and women like August Ames and India Summer and Veronica Avluv are way better with keeping their hair cut then there are the exceptions like Skin Diamond, Jada Stevens, and Kagney Linn Karter who can pull it off either way
it happens all the time on all the sites. I just feel its deceptive to shoot stills for something that is not even captured for the scene. They did this in the Abella/Keisha/Karlee scene. Some of the Evil Directors from yesteryear like Jay Sin or Mason at Elegant used to include BTS and Deleted scenes at the end of movies or as extra features. My only question is after I watched the stuff, what in the world makes this stuff prime to be cut from regular scenes? Didnt hear any farts or queefs. no bathroom breaks, no leakage, no phones going off. I for one dont care about stuff like doors being opened or people walking through the hallway in the back of the set but I know a bunch of people hate to see "reality" in the middle of the scenes so i understand why some stuff is cut. For me, just give me the whole shoot in one take, even throw the fluffing in there as well
