| Jaktarn Senior Member 4798 Posts 5/05 | I am about to start a porn blog and I wonder which platform is the best to use. I wont use blogspot and wordpress doesn't really feel that suited for adult content or does it? What other platforms are there and is anyone especially suited for adult content? [Link] |

Web hosting for a smaller sized blog with not much hosted movie content would run you around $10-$20 a month to start. This way, you can place your own ads on there and do what you like. If you're interested, I can help you get it all set up. I'm not looking to sell you anything... just help out a fellow blogger. Setting up wordpress on a server would honestly take me less than 5 minutes and you'll be up and running. - Swirlie CEO Jimmy Hooligan - My Porn Alter Ego |

But, please mark your blog as 'adult' in your Blogger settings. Otherwise, we may put it behind a 'mature content' interstitial. There are some exceptions to our adult content policy: Do not use Blogger as a way to make money on adult content. For example, don't create blogs where a significant percentage of the content is ads or links to commercial porn sites. No incest or bestiality content: We do not allow image, video or text content that depicts or encourages incest or bestiality." Anyway, I would still be interested in why some refuse to use blogger. |

I'm still on the fence about this but if I go with Blogger and use adsense most ads will be adult oriented automatic thanks to my content and tags does that mean they can close the blog down? |

| Gore Gore Girl Doctor of the Erotic Arts 7238 Posts 1/09 | Regarding blogger, they made a subtle change to their policy on adult content: "Do not use Blogger as a way to make money on adult content. For example, don't create blogs that contain ads or links to commercial porn sites." They removed the "significant percentage" part and I remember a few people freaking out about this, as simply providing links could put your blog in jeopardy. I have had no trouble, however (so far). |

The other porn podcasts I listen to all have fairly innocuous names (The Rialto Report, The Morning After etc.) so maybe they know something I don't, or perhaps are just being cautious? As for being penalized by google in the rankings, I have no idea. Someone more knowledgeable will have to chime in. As an aside, I don't think you ever explained what the focus of the blog would be. Do tell! |
| Jaktarn Senior Member 4798 Posts 5/05 | It won't be a link farm to tube sites. One problem though is to find enough promotion material that I can use on the site without breaking any laws... For instance I've read that I can't post explicit pics, not because of copyright violation (its promotion material to begin with) but because I don't have the paperwork that clears the scenes myself. Having to track down usable pics, videos that aren't explicit to feature on the blog will be such a hassle. Anyone know if Pornlaw Michael is still posting on here? Maybe he knows how I should go about it? I guess I might be able to use nude pics on there though since nude pics can be posted on here since rules and regulations were updated. |
